In 2008, Executive Management decided to set up a Global region-wide, continuous and process-oriented integrated Business Management System (BMS)
Current State
Several different management systems running in parallel

Target for 2010: Globalized BMS

Implementation of a continuous and process-oriented integrated management system as a management and control tool throughout the organization, complete with an effective structure and workflow organization Definition of BMS roles, clear allocation of responsibilities Guarantee of continuous process improvement to optimize performance and costs

Different standards (specifications) and documentation systems No global processes for continuous process environment No standardized ruling for interfaces

An integrated management system will be established, implemented, assessed and continually improved. It will be aligned with the goals of the organization and will contribute to the overall achievement. The main aim of the business management system is:

Bringing together in a coherent manner all the requirements for

managing individual business units;

Describing the planned and systematic actions necessary to provide

adequate confidence that all these requirements are satisfied;

Ensuring that safety, health, environmental, quality and sustainability

related requirements are not considered separately from business management requirements.

The development of global management systems helps ensure that the following objectives are achieved:

Process requirements, such as applicable quality, environmental, health & safety, sustainability, regulatory, legal & other related, and continual improvement requirements, are specified and addressed;

Products and Services meet and/or exceed our customers expectations;

Risks are assessed, Hazards are identified & Incidents are properly investigated to manage our processes to control activities affecting employees; Aspects and Impacts are evaluated for significance to the environment; Interactions with interfacing processes are identified; Process measurement criteria are established for addressing continual improvements. Robust sustainability initiatives are deployed to drive improvements with recycling, landfill avoidance and conservation of resources.

The BMS is a set of interrelated or interacting elements that establishes global and local policies, procedures, processes and instructions which enables goals, objectives and targets to be achieved in a safe, efficient and effective manner

ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 are concerned about the way an organization goes about its work.

They are not product standards. They are not service standards.

They are process standards.

They can be used by product manufacturers and service providers. ISO 9001:2008

ISO 9001 gives the requirements for what the organization must do to manage processes affecting quality of its products and services. ISO 14001 gives the requirements for what the organization must do to manage processes affecting aspects and impacts of its activities on the environment. OHSAS 18001 gives the requirements for what the organization must do to manage processes affecting risks, hazards and incidents on the workforce. Sustainability programs provide the processes for recycling, landfill avoidance and utilities conservation of the facilities. ISO 9004 provides the model for assessing continual improvement of the business management system.
