What is Six Sigma
Sigma means standard deviations.

Standard deviations measure how much

variation exists in a distribution of data.

A key factor in determining the acceptable

number of defective units found in a population.
Standard Deviation
Data cluster closely around the middle of a
distribution and there is little variability
among the data.

The sigma rating is based on the distribution of a

process out put as related to a customer
requirement.
