Any person who has not completed his 14 years of age, unless the minimum age for work or mandatory schooling is stipulated as being higher by local law, in which case the stipulated higher age applies in that locality.

Work done by kids fulltime under the age of 14. Work that prevents kids from attending school, such as unlimited or unrestricted domestic work. Work that is dangerous for kids and that is hazardous to their physical, mental or emotional health.

Child labour deprives a child of a proper childhood. He suffers physical and mental torture. Child labour creates and made permanent poverty. Ultimately this leads to child labour with each generation of poor children. Stunted growth of future generation Adult unemployment Increased illiteracy

These all Acts prohibits the employment of a child who has not completed 14 years.

The Mines Act, 1952: The Act prohibits the employment of a child below 18 years of age for work below ground

ILO constitute NGOs to design , implement and evaluate programs for child labour. Creation of awareness and social mobilization for securing elimination of child labour. ILO gave $4.15 million for IPEC programs in India .
