FANTASY NOVELS

DEFINITION
Fantasy Novels are a type of literature that violates or modifies the elements of nature, physics or regular phenomenon's of the real world. Some created, others derivative from the oral tradition, transcribed to books and stories where we know the author; those are also in hand with the literary fairy tales, fantasy anecdotes, fantasy picture books, etc.

FANTASY NOVELS
Fantasy as an independent genre is a recent invention. It was long considered to be an inferior part of science-fiction literature.

FANTASY NOVELS
Some characteristics: Fantastic elements cannot be employed casually. Authors not only create a new set of physical rules in the world and to the characters, but they must then conform closely to them. Fantasy Novels always have strong, believable characters and should examine issues of the human circumstance. Creative ideas, outstanding situations or actions out of the ordinary dont make these stories irrational.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS

J.R.R. Tolkiens creation is a clear example of a fantasy novel as it is developed in an environment that is far away from reality, with a lot of magical elements. The author creates a world that, although is integrated into human society, goes far beyond reality. Hobbits, dragons, trolls, orcs, dwarfs, elves, ents and wizards are some of the elements that make The Lord of The Rings a magical and fantastical work.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS

It is a work of fiction because it does not make the readers believe that it depicts true historical events of our world. It contain an irreducible element of the supernatural represented by an imaginary setting as well as the characters (elves, wizards, dwarfs).
