Design one
This picture shows a view from a mountain in the Yorkshire dales. All the picture used in my project are primary and taken by me. The reason I chose to use this picture in my designs is because it allows me to make inter-textual references to folk genre codes and conventions that identify the genre in question. This picture connotes the ideology of open spaces, the organic background and traditional references, referring to the instruments and sounds created. I have turned this image into black and white to link in with conventions I used in auxiliary texts; CD covers and

Design two
This design is inspired by my trip to the Yorkshire dales, in the sense that folk musics history comes from the open, organic and traditional background which is, in a way the Yorkshire dales. I chose to use a Yorkshire dales stereotype in this design to reflect its nature. In this case I chose to use sheep. The most common sight in the dales. This picture also encompasses the field convention and open space. This nicely links in with the genre.

Design three
This design uses a picture of an old countryside track. This design is solely based on the ideology of the track representing the journey that the brothers take while one is ill. The track also adds the sense of depth within the image which allows for maximum contrast between the light and dark aspects of the picture. This picture makes an excellent reference to Show Of Hands 'country life' video in which they band link the visuals to the lyrics. They make exact references to what the lyrics says, which is something I challenged in my video.

Design four
The idea behind this design is that the single house is representing the feelings the 'ill' brother is feeling. The isolated and segregated nature to it is something the brother can relate to. He could be feeling that he has no one to talk too as no one understands what he is going through. I have decided to follow suit in all my designs, referring to my auxiliary texts in the sense that they are all in black and white. I believe it is the basis to the identity of my product as the whole black and white aspect is something that the audience can identify and relate it back to my

Design five
This design is set apart for my others because it doesn't include the basic and stereotypical genre conventions. This picture is of the muddy tracks left by a tractor in a farm. I took it because I thought it reflects the ideologies of people's opinions and feelings because ran over and ignored, left to wither by themselves. The water representing the tears and emotions overfilling their boundaries. This specifically relates to my product because the terminally ill brother has someone with him and to talk to, but a lot people don't and that's

Design six
This design is my favourite because it has the most depth, contrast and the best reference to the genre conventions of folk. The contrast between black and white within the grass and the silhouette of the walls and house help the depth. This picture links in with my product because it makes reference to the locations with my video. The performance sections are shot in a field with trees as the background.
