Elvis Aaron Presley (8 January 1935 - 16 August 1977) was an American singer , musician , and actor. He was one of the most popular American singers of the 20th century. A cultural icon, he is widely known by the single name Elvis. He is often referred to as the "King of Rock and Roll" or simply "the King".

It is estimated that Elvis Presley has sold over one billion record units worldwide, more than anyone in record industry history. In America alone, Elvis has had over 150 different albums and singles that have been certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It is estimated that 40% of Elvis' total record sales have been outside the United States. Elvis Presleys trophy room at Graceland is filled with gold and platinum records and awards of all kinds from around the world. Some of the countries represented are: Norway, Yugoslavia, Japan, Australia, South Africa, United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, France, Canada, Belgium, and The Netherlands.

Elvis has had no less than 149 songs to appear on Billboards Hot 100 Pop Chart in America. Of these, 114 were in the top forty, 40 were in the top ten, and 18 went to number one. His number one singles spent a total of 80 weeks at number one. He has also had over 90 charted albums with ten of them reaching number one. These figures are only for the pop charts and only in America. He was also a leading artist in the American country, R&B, and gospel fields, and his chart success in other countries was substantial.

The Beatles were an iconic rock group from Liverpool, England. They are frequently cited as the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed band in modern history, with innovative music, a cultural impact that helped define the 1960s and an enormous influence on music that is still felt today.

Early on, the band consisted of George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Stuart Sutcliffe, and Pete Best. Stuart remained in Germany after the others decided to return to England, and became engaged to fellow artist Astrid Kirchherr, but he died a few years later of a brain hemorrhage. Later, due in part to Martins refusal to use him on recordings, Pete Best was replaced by Ringo Starr, the drummer from another big Liverpool band known as Rory Storm and the Hurricanes.

The Beatles launched the single 'Love Me Do' which got 17th place on the UK charts. Their second single, 'Please Please Me', became their first single which reach the top ranking on the charts. This success continues. Almost all of their singles reached the top ranking in the UK charts. The music of The Beatles spread throughout the world. Their concerts are always full with fans who are very fanatical. But the scream of fans make the Beatles could not even hear their own voice on stage.

In 1966, the Beatles finally decided to stop the concert. One of their reasons is the noisy audience which caused their music becomes inaudible This decision made the world doubted the band's continuation. But the Beatles answered it by launching their album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1967, which is still recognized many circles as one of the best albums of all time.

After Epstein's death in 1967, Lennon was the one who did not like McCartneys act, who took over leadership of the band. He hates the projects led by McCartney, such as the film Magical Mystery Tour and Let It Be. Lennon also became the person who first violated the initial agreement of the Beatles, that is to not bring their wives and girlfriends in the process of recording, but Lennon bring Yoko Ono in the process of making the album White Album in 1968. Lennon was also among the first states to get out of the Beatles. Finally the band broke up in 1970
