MANAGEMENT
Management can be defined as all the activities and tasks undertaken by one or more persons for the purpose of planning and controlling the activities of others in order to achieve an objective or complete an activity that could not be achieved by the others acting independently

Management is the coordination of all resources through the processes of planning, organizing, directing and controlling , motivating in order to attain the specific objectives Management is the Process of getting things done Effectively and Efficiently, through and with other people

This knowledge is obtained through the process of observation, experimentation and testing

Management is a science because it has all the characteristics of science i.e Systematic body of knowledge Management is a social science

Management is a soft science

It is the application of knowledge and personal skills to achieve results

MICRO ENVIRONMENT
The micro environment is also known as the task environment and operating environment because the micro environmental forces have a direct bearing on the operations of the firm The Constituents of micro environment : Suppliers Customers Competitors

MACRO ENVIRONMENT
The macro environment consists of constituents that are beyond the control of business organization The effect of changes in the macro environment on the business is indirect Therefore, it is also termed as General (Societal) Environment The Constituents of macro environment : Social Environment Political Factor Technological Factor Economic Factor

Person responsible for planning & directing the work of a group of individuals, monitoring their work, and taking corrective actions when necessary

CONCLUSION
There is no simple process to help an individual become an effective manager There are many different opinions with respect to what a manager actually is: a Facilitator or Controlling Manager should know when to perform which role in order to get things done through people in an effective and efficient manner

Facts
Scientific Tools Ltd. is the company based in Mumbai and has a turnover of

Rs. 30 crores
Mr. R. S. Tiwari was promoted from a field sales manager to the head office

as an assistant product manager and he was well qualified for this post
Mr. Aspi Bhatena is the Vice President of the marketing department. He is

very disciplined and straight forward


Mr. Sunderlal is the marketing Director of Scientific Tools Ltd Mr. Aspi called a meeting of the product manager and other staff to plan

marketing strategies. But, since the product manager was not present, Mr. Sunderlal invited Mr. Tiwari to attend the meeting just to orient him to his new job

Issues
Since Mr. Aspi was not getting satisfying answers from

the staff, he became very furious and later turned to Mr. Tiwari and asked him about his group of product, Mr. Tiwari in all honesty accepted that he did not know the answers
On hearing this reply, Mr. Aspi was visibly shaken. He

addressed everyone and told that such a person does not deserve to be part of this organization

SWOT
Strengths: Weakness :

(2) He is very disciplined (3) Straight forward

(2) Doesnt care for others feelings (3) De Motivating the employees

Opportunity: (1) Improving his behaviour

Threats: (1) Lack of job satisfaction for the employees (2) This would lead to employees ----leaving the organization .
