Definition
"Leadership is a function of knowing yourself, having a vision that is well communicated, building trust among colleagues, and taking effective action to realize your own leadership potential." Skill is an ability and capacity acquired through deliberate, systematic, and sustained effort to smoothly and adaptively carryout complex activities or job functions involving ideas, things, and/or people.

Facilitating group behaviour


As prevention, the facilitator :
Sets ground rules , defines roles. Gets agreement on content/outcome. stays neutral, out of content areas. Is positive , has win/win attitude

Gets the group responsibility for its actions.

Asserting Control
Control may be asserted in a variety of ways and situations.
One general rule is to praise in public , criticize in private. Control is always being asserted directly or indirectly , positively or negatively.

Resources
An economic or productive factor required to accomplish

an activity ,or as means to undertake and enterprise and achieve desired out come.
E.g. Sun, tree, people, time, a knife everything is resources . Group resources

Types of Resources
Human resources.
The human spirits capacity for achievement and

innovation is enormous. The greatest challenge we face in entire life is getting out of our own way .
Physical resources. Are made up of tangible asset found in our

environment.

Counseling

Counseling
Counseling is private talk with someone that helps the

individual with a personal problem.


When to counsel. First of all when asked. leader must respect

individuals right to privacy. there is no more arrogant than who offers unsolicited and unwanted advice.

Evaluation

Meaning of evaluation
Evaluation is a continual process, either informal or formal, of judging a situation against a standard.

Evaluation enables to:


To maintain group integrity.
Analyze a situation for improvement. Avoid conflicts. Develop an attitude of constant evaluation. Use a variety of strategies.

Points to be considered while Evaluating:


Did final product meet the expectation?? Was it done on time?? Did we choose the best alternative?? Did we use the resources to the fullest??

Was everyone involved to a reasonable extent? Was communication clear? Who was the leader? And why??

CONCLUSION:
A Leader must be an expert in his area. He must possess all the technical skills of his area of

expertise. He must understand the feelings, emotions, and needs of the employees which is very essential for gaining loyalty from them. A Leader must lead by an example, for the followers to follow, by the way of right conduct, and ethics. He must be an idol, philosopher, guide and a role model to his followers.
