O The arrangement should be suitable with

teachers instructional goal and activities. O Pupils must be able to view the board and projection screen without obstruction. O Pupils must be within full view of teacher. O Movement in and out of class should be smooth with no bottlenecks. O Make the classroom a pleasant and comfortable place to work in.

Classrooms Rules

1. Classroom rules complement

school rules.
O One classroom rule can be Obey school

rules.

2. Rules should be in few number.


O The fewer the rules the better it is for all

concern. O More rules make it difficult for pupils to remember the necessary and even more difficult for teacher to enforce.

3. Rules should be stated in positive terms

for the identified behaviours.


O State the rule as Listen when teacher is

talking rather than Dont talk when teacher is talking


4. Rules should be clear and succinct. O Concise and precise. O Eg : Raise you hand before you answer instead of You can answer my questions only after you have raised your hand

5. Rules should be reasonable.


O Make the rules reasonable and

easier to implement. O Students follow the rules.


6. Rules should be enforceable.
O Rules should be practical and be

implemented easily.

7. Rules should be enforced consistently

and monitored all the time.


O Enforce the rules firmly and consistently. O To avoid giving pupils the feeling that their

teacher acts differently on different days and is unfair.


8. Be flexible when necessary. O Human touch in the enforcement of rules.

9. Rules should be plan with

consequences in mind.
The rules and consequences that

teacher sets for pupils should be consistent with his beliefs in education. The penalty must be relevant.
