In this article the author dscusses what web 2.0 is vs. web 1.0 (being able to interact with the web vs. just reading.) and how this can improve education. With wbsites like facebook, blogger, wikipedia, etc. we an repond to the information we read, edit it, and add to it.

This technology can allow for great teaching atmosphere, because it can be used for online collaboration, forums, etc.

This article was exciting, because it talked about the benefits, and all that could come out of using web 2.0 in classroom. I never thought to use some of the web 2.0 tools mentioned in this article, before reading it. It truly is a new way of communicating. It allows for students to feel more comfortable approaching teachers.

This article was written by a professor. The article mostly focused on her first encounter with facebook. She had heard that her students had met to discuss a book they were reading in class and was very excited, and then found out that they actually met over a page they had started on facebook specifically for that class

I agree that Facebook is a tool, that if not used, is a waste. Facebook can be used to set up a class discussion, similar to oncourse. You can bounce ideas off of other students to help each other When we all get our minds together, we come up with better ideas than we would on our own student quoted in article

This article was very interesting. It said that there has been clear evidence that those who had gone to preschool, have out performed those who hadnt, well throughout high school. This stresses the importance of early literacy. This article suggests that the internet can be used to help advocate and achieve goof early literacy

The article points out that most children use the internet, so why not use it to promote literacy. The combination of good educational websites, games, and guidance of parents/teachers. A child could learn a lot about reading and writing through the internet

The Web can be used both as a delivery system for instruction and as a literacy learning environment for all children, regardless of national origin, residence, diversity in background, income, style, and ability thus supporting the hope that every child around the world can enter formal schooling well on his/her way to becoming a good reader. Early childhood literacy is very important, and we should use the internet to help our children grow as readers and writers

Conclusion

There is a lot of potential out there, on the web. With the right responsibility, care, and effort; we could harness the powers of the internet, to greatly improve teaching and education. Works Cited
