X is a Scottish racing cyclist who twice broke the world hour record, in July
1993 and April 1994, and was the individual pursuit world champion in 1993
and 1995. He was known for a bicycle he built which included parts from a
washing machine.

The bike instead of traditional dropped handlebars it had straight bars like
those of a mountain bike. He placed them closer to the saddle than usual and
rode with the bars under his chest, his elbows bent and tucked into his sides
like those of a ski-jumper. Watching a washing machine spin at 1,200rpm led
him to take the bearings, which were of superior quality, and fit them to his
bike. The bike was later banned.

Apart from his bike, he was also known for his unusual riding styles. the
tucked in style and the superman style, both of which were banned, as they
were deemed to give him an undue advantage over others

His life and exploits have been dramatized in a film, The Flying Scotsman.

______ was the first man to manage three national teams – France (1946-48), Spain
(1959-62) and Italy (1966-67).
As a club manager he won 16 major titles, and is regarded as one of the most
influential managers in the history of the game.
His greatest successes came at Inter Milan where he won back to back European
Cups in 1964 and 1965 as well as seven scudettos.

He is considered the pioneer of the infamous Italian Catenaccio (bolt door) tactic.
He was also the first manager to be given credit for his teams' performances. Up to
that time managers were more marginal figures in a team. All teams were known for
their headline-grabbing individual players whereas Inter during the 60s is still referred

This tournament was started primarily as an opportunity for
sports lotteries (or pools) to continue during the summer.
In fact it derives its name from the German term for Football pools
though it is often referred to as the "cup for the cupless"
The first edition was held in 1961 as the International Football
Cup (IFC). UEFA were initially disinclined to support the tournament,
finding its betting background distasteful; nevertheless they permitted
the new tournament but refrained from getting officially involved.
By 1995 UEFA having reconsidered its opinion, took official control
of the tournament.
The last three winners are Braga, Hamburg and Newcastle United.

He is most famous for a trend which he started in 1932 at Forest Hills. At

first there was a cold silence lasting several minutes when he walked onto
court, but then the Queen settled down without a word to watch the match

By the following year he had turned fully professional and was a regular
member of a Celtic reserve team so highly rated it was known as the

"The oldest motor-cycle racing circuit still in use is the Snaefell

Mountain Course over which the ______ race is run. Starting at the
town of Douglas on the south-east coast, the course takes a wide sweep
to the west and north to enter the town of Ramsey on the north-east coast
and thence return to the starting point, each lap taking in over 200 bends
while climbing from sea level to an altitude of over 1,300 ft (396 m). This
circuit is the epitome of the natural road course, all the roads used being
ordinary public highways closed for the racing and practice sessions.“

The race is extremely dangerous because of the high speeds on very

narrow, twisting streets, roads and lanes flanked by stone walls and even
buildings. Between 1907 and 2007 there have been 225 deaths during
official practices or races on the Snaefell Mountain Course.

X and Y are the only pair of brothers to have won the English
National Championships in both football and cricket. They both
spent their entire cricket and football careers with Middlesex and
Arsenal respectively
X was always considered better at football and played for Arsenal
for 22 years. A wicket keeper with Middlesex, he never represented
England at cricket.
Y’s absent-mindedness was legendary, as was his batting. Colin
Cowdrey writes that Y turned up for the Old Trafford Test of 1955
against South Africa without his kitbag. Undaunted, he sauntered
into the museum and borrowing an antique bat off the display, went
on to score 155. This absent-mindedness was particularly obvious
in his tendency to run out his partners at the crease; it was said that
'a call for a run from Y should be treated as no more than a basis for
negotiation.' Typically, at his brother X's benefit match, he managed
to run him out before he had faced a single ball. UTPT 2009

This technique in boxing involves laying
back against the ropes, covering up
defensively as much as possible and
allowing the opponent to land punches.
Weathering the blows, the boxer lures the
opponent into expending energy whilst
conserving his/her own. If successful, the
attacking opponent will eventually tire,
creating defensive flaws which the boxer
can exploit.
