Way to go, Team!


Octathlon team placed 5th at Regionals. The big winner was Andi Liang who came in first in Scholastic division and won 3 other first place, 3 second place, and one third place medal. Shomik Verma and Stone Wang won 2 first place medals each. Pranay Nakirekanti and Connie Wang each won one first place medal, and Angela Wang won one third place medal. The team as a whole won 2nd place in the super quiz.

CHS SWIM NEWS


Four swimmers earned Academic All-State Colleen Lord Andrew Wong Jessica Wey Teddy Zhang

PERCUSSION CONCERT
The percussion concert will be on Thursday, May 9, in the CHS auditorium at 7pm. It will feature several ensembles, a solo by Michael Clark, a duet by Carina Henry and Jadha Gunawan, and a piece written for trash cans! Admission will be $3. Come check it out!

SCHOOL WIDE CELEBRATION


Come help us celebrate Clements High School. Various groups from our school community will be recognized. The Fieldhouse weight room will be dedicated in honor of former Ranger Bryan Stoltenberg. Hot Dog and Hamburger Meals will be available for $5Hosted by CABC

King and Queen Nominees:


Voting will happen at prom. Voting will close at 10:30. Prom King and Queen will be announced at 11pm. Please make sure the nominees are near the DJs table at the front of the dance floor at 11:00.

Attention students who signed up for College Now U. S. History or College Now English IV for the 2013-2014 school year: There will be an informational meeting in May (date TBA) to give you registration information regarding Wharton college Junior College for those classes. Stay tuned for further details!

ACADEMIC DECATHLON INFO


If you are taking the Academic Decathlon Class next year, or if you are interested in taking the class next year, there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 28th from 2:40-3:00 in room 1323. Next years topic and summer reading will be on the agenda. Also, current and former decathlon students will give new students advice and answer questions. And, there will be cookies.

Late Ticket Sales:
Students will have the last opportunity to purchase tickets on May 9 and 10th. The ticket price will be $75 dollars a ticket. Cash only!!!! No tickets will be sold at the event. All juniors and seniors can purchase 2 tickets. They must have their school ID to purchase the tickets. Students must be cleared of all outstanding fees at the time of purchase. All individuals attending prom must not be older than 20 years old. Prom Favors: first 700 tickets sold will receive picture frame.

SENIOR RECEPTION
The annual Senior Reception will be held on Thursday, May 9th at 3:15 in the Colony Meadows Elementary library. DRESS CODE

NOTICE
The EOC assessments will NOT count as 15% of a students final grade for this year. Note: This change involves freshman and sophomore students taking EOC assessments. Current juniors and seniors remain under TAKS assessment requirements, not EOC.

Final Exam Exemption Information 2013 Spring Exemption Policy


Grade 9 & 10 No Exemptions Exemptions 11 and 12 Grades Eligible for exemption in all classes Minimum 2100 score on exit-level TAKS Minimum grade of 80 for semester 2 average No more than (4) absences in each class during spring semester 3 tardies = one absence Students absence of up to two (2) days for visiting a college or university may be considered as an exemption, provided the student:1. Receives prior approval from the campus principal2. Follows the campus procedures to verify such a visit3. Makes up any work missed (HB2542) Students may not have a removal to DAEP/JJAEP on their discipline record Students may not have outstanding fees or fines
