SYNOPSIS:

In fast growing electronics world robotics plays the major parts. controlling robot motion wireless through RF. using ZigBee to transmit signals using flex sensors to control the motion of robot 2 flex sensors are used to control the motion of the robot. For each position of the flex sensor we are assigning particular motion and also for one particular position we can request temperature. communication is through ZigBee. 4 wheels robot we are using. If you request temperature then temperature sensor will sense the temperature and will send the value through ZigBee. ZigBee in control unit receive that value and it will be displayed on the alphanumeric LCD.

METHODOLOGY:
The project FLEX SENSOR USING ROBOT CONTROL contains 8-bit microcontroller P89V51RD2, ADC0809, flex sensors, alphanumeric LCD, buzzer, ZigBee, temperature sensor LM35, DC motor drivers, DC motors, wheels and power supply. 2 flex sensors are used to control the motion of the robot. For each position of the flex sensor we are assigning particular motion and also for one particular position we can request temperature. Communication is through ZigBee. If you request temperature then temperature sensor will sense the temperature and will send the value through ZigBee. ZigBee in control unit receive that value and it will be displayed on the alphanumeric LCD. 8051 architecture based P89V51RD2 microcontroller from NxP is used to implement this project. Microcontroller acts as the heart of this project, which controls the whole system. It contains 1k RAM, 64k Flash, 3 Timers, 2 external interrupts, 1 UART, 32 GPIOs, ISP programming support etc. KEIL IDE is used to program the microcontroller and the coding will be done using Embedded C.

Economical

Thin, flexible, robust

Simple one piece construction

Operates in large temperature range

Provides accuracy greater than traditional potentiometer

To Overcome this:

We have to used it in voltage divider configuration and moreover stitched pockets on the glove so the sensors do not change their postion, and defined voltages in out program. The result is this arrangement is that the output voltage increases with increasing deflection.

Flex sensors are used in gaming gloves, auto controls, fitness products, measuring devices assistive technology, musical instruments, joysticks, and more. The Flexpoint bend sensor was first developed for automotive airbags and now is also used in car horns, toys that detect different degrees of pressure or bending, robots, machine control, medical devices and assistive technology.
