Two motors driving (15KW) two gear pumps(32l/min). An emergency hand pump(11cm3/stroke) One pressure relief set at 210 bar piloted by one direction control valve(SV17). 10 filter on the pressure line with clogging indicator. 10 filter return line filter with clogging indicator. Three 125 suction strainers, one per aspiration line( two for each pump and one for hand pump). Two air dryer. One accumulator of 50 l capacity with pressure gauge and relief valve at 240barg. One pressure switch to maintain the accumulator pressure within 160 to 200 bar. One pressure switch , set at 40 bar starts an alarm in case of abnormal pressure in PERC line. One pressure switch set at 150 bar for alarm.

Drier: Hydraulic oil must be kept free from contamination and water. Avoid contamination into the tank. Moisture can be observed by color change of Z-R gel(silica el granule) it turns from red to light orange.

Filter: Pressure cartridge filter with a visual clogging indicator 10uP.

Bladder type accumulator: A bladder type accumulator consists of a synthetic rubber bladder inside a metal shell, the bladder contains the gas. As fluid enters the shell, gas in the bladder is compressed. Gas pressure decreases as fluid flows from the shell. When all liquid has been discharged, gas pressure attempts to push the bladder through the outlet. But, as the bladder contacts the poppet valve at the outlet, flow from the shell is automatically shut off. 0ne accumulator at Hydraulic pressure unit. One accumulator at the base of each arm.

Pressure Gauge: To view the hydraulic pressure in field area range: 0-250 bar,0-400bar,0-400bar respectively. Check Valve: A check valve basically consists of a body with inlet and outlet ports and a movable member which is biased by spring force. The movable member can be a flapper, or plunger, but most often in hydraulic systems it is a ball or poppet. Direction Control Valve: The moving part or spool connects and disconnects internal passages within the valve body, which results in a control of fluid direction. A typical directional control valve consists of a valve body with four internal passages and a sliding moving part which connects and disconnects the passages.

Pressure Switch: force balance principal opposing a spring to the force developed by the strain of a sensing element such as a bellow, a diaphragm, a tube or a vapor actuated temperature element. Lack of balance causes the actuation of a micro switch. Selector valve 2 positions makes possible the free wheeling mode of unloading arm, it gets operated by 2 position solenoid valve. 3 direction control valve for Raising and lowering inboard Raising and lowering outboard Right or left slewing arm Three double throttle check valve to regulate the speed of arm movement. Six Pressure relief valve One solenoid valve, three position to operate Double Ball Valve. Solenoid valve two position to position to operate PERC. One manual valve for locking arm in parking position.

Limit Switches Inductive sensor/non contact detection of metal. They operate with high frequency electro magnetic AC field.
Three limit switches on a base riser to control slewing angle. Three limit switches on counter beam so as to control inboard/ outboard arm opening. One to indicate that arm is connected. Two valve at style 80 to indicate ball valve position open/close. Make: turck combi. 2 volt DC,1 Kohm.

Pendulum potentiometer located at inboard arm measure angle of inboard arm with respect to vertical Pendulum potentiometer located at inboard arm measure angle of outboard arm with respect to vertical Direct couple potentiometer located at style 50 measures the slewing angle.

Integrated cordless is used to control the arm movement remotely. It is the wireless device shown in next slide. When Key is pressed eight bit words are digitally coded. Modulated and transmitted by FM transmitter till the key is depressed. Lithium battery:5.6volt 8-bit even parity,2stop bit.1200 baud rate. Modulation frequencies for 0-1300Hz and for 1-2100Hz. Signal is sent to receiver and then it is carried to electronic card. 8-bit even parity,2stop bit.1200 baud rate. Here signals are demodulated and processed, words are decoded and checked. Only accepted if three messages of four identical words are received. If validated signal is transmitted to control part to energize relay or solenoid valve to control desire motion.

This is mainly due to the fact that visualization of working envelop is not so easy when tanker is connected. To solve we have installed proximity. When we have to handle the dangerous material such as LNG, LPG and that too at exposed location with intermittent or constant movement of ship. So we have installed Integrated Position Monitoring System with three alarm.

Two pendulum sensor measure angle with respect to vertical and direct coupled one measure angle with respect to perpendicular to berth. Data acquisition is performed through analog measurements, voltage is provided through analog multiplexor. Analog multiplexor converts analog data to digital. PMS Electronic board demodulates signal from analog multiplexor, decodes received measurements, test redundancies, activate alarm output and transmit electronic data to LCD display. LCD displays the data in five window.

Coupler is used as an extra protection against the leakage. This is additionally added. For tighten and loosing the coupler two SOV are installed.(FIG-1) Cryogenic Quikcon hydraulic coupler on the four LNG marine loading arms RCMAS 16x75. Hydraulic pressure is not required to maintain the clamping force. The non reversible drive screw system is designed so that this clamping force is maintained automatically.

sensor is use to measure the speed and direction of the wind. wind speed sensor is rotary cup type unit made from s.s and it is directly connected to rotary optical encoder which generates 8pulses/revolutions which is detect by microprocessor and calculates speed in m/s. wind direction sensor is wind vane type unit made from s.s, is connected with resolver, and resolver transmit sine and cosine signal. Microprocessor converts the resolver signal in to direction signal. Wind sensor needed 12v supply and can measure 0.3-75m/s wind speed. RS-232 serial output, Transmitted up to 1200 mtr.

Current sensor is working on the Doppler effect. Vector averaging sensor for measuring current. Ping rate selectable from 4 to 1200 pings per minute speed and direction in the sea. RS-232 communication. Transducers transmit short pulses (pings) of acoustic energy along narrow beams. The same transducers receive backscattered signals from scatters that are present in the beams (0.4 to 2.2m from the sensor), which are used for calculation of the current speed and direction, upwards shift indicated particle is moving towards sensor and vise-versa. The measurement accuracy is proportional to the square root of the number of pings in a measuring interval. Baud rate 9600,8 data bit, 2 stop bit and no parity. For out put connection 18 pin strain proof plug.

RIELIGH LMU 500W wave/tide sensor is use to measure the tide of the sea and calculated short wave and long wave parameter wave details. The Laser is use to measure the tide and wave data. Infrared pulses are transmitted towards sea and calculate the time taken by reception to calculate tide and wave information. The sensor measures the distance between itself and the water surface, to provide tide and wave height data. The sensor measures the transit time taken for the pulse to be reflected back to the sensor. Since the velocity of the light is essentially constant and known, the measured transit time is directly proportional to the distance between the surface and the sensor. Data for wave and tide is calculated through software . It is mounted on the fix surface above sea level. For our system it is mounted at MD 1 & MD 5.

LDS measures the vessel approach/departure speed and distance from the fenders. LDS provides this information to pilot on hand held pager, large display mounted on dolphins and jetty control room. It helps protecting fenders and dolphins by warning pilot and dock master in case of vessel over speed. Time interval between transmission and reception is calculated by microprocessor and it gives the speed of vessel and distance from fenders.

Track from a distance 500m Approach speed shown when close to 50 meters. Motor is installed to drive the laser up and down. Level sensor is installed to protect the laser from water damage. Use of quick release hooks is to berth a vessel on pier properly and to moor the vessel with dolphins through QRH during unloading operation. The hooks are specifically designed to release mooring lines with little effort, even under full load conditions. To reset the hook back into its working position a simple action is required. load cell is used for line tension monitoring. load cell is generally installed at the rear horizontal swivel of hook. Capstans can decrease the time required to moor a vessel and prevents the heavy lifting of mooring lines. Capstan is operated by a footswitch or push-button. Hooks can be released by hand gear, manually and remotely, This enables the operator to release the hooks individually or simultaneously in case of an emergency from a distance, such as the jetty control room. On each MD 4 mooring hooks and on each BD 2 mooring hooks are installed.

ALL 900 is connected with all sensors through P-NET protocol. There are two processors used one for main control and other for back up. P-NET 1 & 2 is connected with main processor and back up processor respectively. The data from main/back up processor is routed to DCS. P-NET is a two wire twisted pair shielded cable with RS485 std, means all sensors are connected with two wires. Fault in network or sensor is self detected by protocol. Master slave communication, data can be byte, integer, character, word so master requires very less time for calculation. Powered off Any slave or even master not effect the network.

The basic philosophy is to assist the berthing (Docking) operations of medium and large LNG carrying vessels. Using dockmaster we can view all the data at one place on a one computer. Dockmaster is a application software package of marimatech. It gives the graphical view of whole BAS. It enables both the ship crew and shore staff to closely monitors advance of docking operation right from starting point some 100-200mtrs,through close approach right until the ship is alongside the pier. We can have print outs, history of all the docking of ship and environmental data. It saves the data base on hard-disk and the back up hard-disk too. During mooring mode it monitors the ship. It gives the graphical view of weather data too.

When the ship is moored the MOORING mode takes over the monitoring of the ship. In MOORING mode the system is a comprehensive warning system that monitors not only the drift but is also capable of measuring the strain on the mooring lines, fender deflection and environmental data. The weather display can be selected by clicking at the weather button in the lower left part of the window. The weather window is divided in smaller windows. Wind, waves, tide, current, air. Log files The Dockmaster software Package, are generating Log Files on the Hard disk. The Log Files are stored in a subdirectory called DATAFILE Docking log file The Dockmaster program creates a Log File when an approach maneuver is initiated (started). Every time the Dockmaster changes mode a new log file is created. The file name will always be a number with the extensions MDB. Weather Log Files The Dockmaster program writes weather data to a log file every time the program is running.

There are four winches installed on MD 1,2,3 & 4 respectively. The winches are operated from the hydraulic power packs. At the jetty control room a remote control and monitoring unit is installed. The status of load on the winch can be monitored. An emergency release can be given for all four winches. Each winch is driven by a 55 kW power pack (motor/pump combination). Electric motor drives 5 pumps pump 1(266 l/min) main pump for winch drive. pump 2 (26 l/min) pilot pump for selector valve main pumps 1-2 and pilot oil for main pump. pump 3 (26 l/min) pump for flushing close loop system. pump 4 (131 l/min) oil for cooling and 20 l/min for 10 min flushing and for pressurizing the house of the winch motor for freewheel. pump 5 (31.5 l/min) pilot oil for joystick, hi/lo speed, brake release and freewheel valve In the unlikely event of a mall function of the accumulators and If for some reason the hydraulic pumps cannot be started. The hand pump positioned near the winch can be used to release the brakes .

Gives the start O/P. Pump run indication glows, pump running bit set PSWX 1.1 = 15 bar, if it goes lower, then it will trip pump 1 PSWX 2.1 = 15 bar, if it goes lower, then it will trip pump 2.

Flushing Mode: Pump running bit checked. Accumulator 1 & 2 pressure checked, PSWX 3 = 40 BAR ; PSWX 4 = 4 BAR Temperature of oil, TSWX-2 < 70 C. Flushing done for 10 min Flushing active indication glows. Pump run indication glows, pump running bit set. Manual Mode: By moving joysticks forward/backwards-Payout/haul in. C.T. Mode: The principle of C.T. mode is to maintain the tension in the wire constant. The wire tension is increasing above set point, the winch will pay out, and if wire tension is decreasing then the winch will haul in. Pen force compared with force value set point. CT mode the force setting can be adjusted- Adjust the setting with the + & - force buttons on the control panel.

Freewheeling Mode: By freewheeling mode, winch is running free. Winch can run at a higher speed at load is <7.5 ton. Speed: 16m/min Emergency release will result in freewheel mode. Activated by emergency release button on the local panel or by emergency release from jetty control room. The pistons of the winch hydro motor will be retracted and the brake will be released. The oil for emergency release will come from pump if its running, else it will be supplied by the accumulators. The oil in the accumulator is sufficient to pay out all the 141 mtrs (130 + 11) wire by means of freewheeling mode. If the accumulators also malfunctions then hand pump must be used for the purpose.

If active then high speed request bit set, else low speed request bit set. For this following steps have to be done. Push the change load/speed button. Push the accept/acknowledge button. Switch from CT to manual mode. Slowly bring the winch to a full stop. Now the winch will switch over load mode.

The direction of rotation of the motor is changed by reversing the flow of fluid to it. Motor displacement is varied by shifting the slide block laterally to change the piston stroke. When the centerlines of the cylinder barrel and housing coincide, there is no fluid flow and therefore the cylinder barrel stops. Moving the slide past center reverses direction of motor rotation.
