The story was start with a group of people that prospected for gold. After a camp breakfast, the main characters Ollie, Megat, Gazz Babar, Senawee Jumaat and Aberdeen Annuwar resumed their prospecting for gold. The tiny station was desolated when they detrain at Gua Musang. After much searching, a boatman of sorts was found. He and his associate would take them upriver on a couple of rafts, racket. Megat was jumping and dancing because they found the gold. They spent money like kings that night. But the morning following, they found that it was not gold but natural mineral-iron sulphide. They barely had enough money for them back to their respective homes. Within a month, they were back at Gemas railway station, agog about the new prospects. This was their fourth trip in as many months. Ollie prayed fervently for touching gold, as he thought of it. That night, something in him made him sense that on the morrow, they would find gold and he was true. He was the only one who still alive in the end. His right fist was clenched. After he opened his fist, he found that it was the real gold. His dream comes true. But for what ? He will never know where was the gold comes from.

Exposition:

The main characters-Ollie, Megat, Gazz Babar, Senawee Jumaat and Aberdeen Annuwar resumed their prospecting for gold.

Action:

They were so happy of their success found the gold. On the same time, they found that it was not the real gold but the natural mineral, iron sulphate. They started their fourth trip in as many months, this time they prepared very well. They believed that they will found the gold successfully. That night, Ollie found that the surrounding was unusual and he thought that something bad will happen.

The smaller onrush of water swallowed Ollie. His lung was blocked and his nose passages stung as water forced its way in. Then, something hard hit his head and he was fainted. Ollie is the only one who still alive and finally he found the gold. But he will never know where is the gold comes from.

Resolution:

In the story, Ollie, Gazz Babar, Senawee Jumaat, Aberdeen Annuwar and Megat were trying their very best to find gold. In the real world, people always try to get something that is hard to find but valuable. In the story, Ollie tried to loan from his friends and relatives to buy something that he thought were useful. In the real world, people always like to do or buy something that can make herself or himself happy without thinking the effect. In the story, they put their full effort to find the gold, but finally, only Ollie was alive and found the gold. In the real world, people always do something that is no use and bring bad effect to herself or himself.
