Pakistan has a considerable potential of wind energy in the coastal belt of Sindh and Balochistan
Pakistan has a 1,046 Km coastline in the South Average wind speed more than 7.5 m/s in Gharo Wind Corridor Estimated wind potential more than 60,000 MW Other sites in Balochistan, Punjab and Northern Areas being identified
The coastal belt of Pakistan is blessed with a God gifted wind corridor that is 60 km wide (Gharo ~ Kati Bandar) and 180 km long (up to Hyderabad). This corridor has the exploitable potential of 50,000 MW of electricity generation through wind energy.

Pakistan has a potential of 46,000 MW of Hydro Power Energy. At present 6,595 MW (15 % of available potential) of Electricity is generated through Hydro Power. Tarbela Power Plant is the biggest plant with total capacity of 3478 MW. The construction work on 4500 MW Bhasha Hydro Power Plant will start in next year. The feasibility study of 4320 MW Dasu Hydro Power Plant has been completed and construction work will start with in few years.

At present GoP is installing three Solar Thermal Power Plants of 10-35 kW for demonstration purpose using Parabolic Trough and Dish / Sterling technologies. After successful demonstration of these plants, private sector will be facilitated to install 50-100 MW Solar Thermal Power Plants.
Pakistan is an agricultural country, more than 70% of the population is involved in agriculture and it accounts for more than 35% of the GDP Pakistan is rich in Biogas potential. Having more than 57 million of cattle animals and a potential of more than 21.38 million M3 gas daily, the technology provides nearly three times more useful energy than that dung directly burnt, and also produces nutrientrich manure.
At present there are about 2 million biogas digesters in the rural areas.
