WHAT IS LOVES MISSION?

Reduce the amount of violence in the lives of youth and in our community

Promotes violence prevention in the youth population

Build a team of youth who communicate a message of non violence LOVE is a non-profit, youth charity organization Uses a variety of media like Facebook and Twitter to promote non -violence

THE HISTORY OF LOVE

LOVE was founded by Sheila Rudberg in Montreal, Quebec in 1993 Her husband was murdered by a 14 year old gang member LOVE began as a community organization Journalism and photography was brought to promote LOVE in 1994 Expanded to Ontario in 1996 Later expanded to other places world -wide

Media arts program taught students skills in photography, writing and recording Leadership training program for youth School and community outreach programs promote violence prevention

Youth leading the way - LOVE reached over 15,000 people in the GTA with their message of violence prevention. The LOVE Project on Rogers T V - with over 200,000 viewer each week Winners at Toronto International Film Festival- promoting the message of non-violence
