T.A. vs R.A. !! Whats the difference?

Course Structure
For a T.A.: 1st Sem- 5 Courses + 1 Seminar + Comm. Skills 2nd Sem 4 Courses 3rd Sem (0-2) Courses + MTP Stage 1 + Placement!!! 4th Sem (2-0) Courses + MTP Final Presentation

For an R.A.
1st Sem 3 Courses + 1 Seminar + Comm. Skills 2nd Sem 3 Courses 3rd Sem 2/3 Courses 4th Sem 3/2 Courses 5th Sem 1st Stage MTP + Placements 6th Sem MTP Final Presentation

T.A. vs R.A. !! Whats the difference?

Work Load
For a T.A.:
Up to 6-8 hours a week Duty assigned in 1-2 weeks after start of semester

For an R.A.:
Expect to be working for 20 hours a week
For an Institute R.A . Relaxed work load (at least in Sem 1) For a Project R.A. Your guide is your god

Electronic Systems
Welcome to the best spec of EE IITB !!

You have 3 different domains in which you can choose a career !!

Circuit Design : Analog and Digital Design

Courses @ IITB
Brief information: Types of Course
Credit :- Have to compulsorily complete 11 Credit Courses and a Seminar
Total Credits to be completed in course and Seminar = 66 + 4 = 70 Communication Skills:- A Pass/No Pass Course
No Credits involved. However, unless you pass this course, you wont get an IITB degree. Take it seriously. The guys who handle this course dont fret in giving No pass grades

Audit: These courses dont affect your grades in any way. Any course from any dept can be taken as an Audit. If a course cant be taken as Audit, the professor will tell you beforehand in the first lecture itself The professor will also tell you the Audit criteria If one clears the Audit criteria, your final transcript/report card will show that you have taken that course, and cleared it as an Audit

Grading @ IITB
The grading criteria for most courses is announced in the 1st lecture by the professor. Grading is done for most subjects in a relative manner. Based on overall students performance, viz. Assignments, Mid-Sems, EndSems, Quizzes, Surprise Quizzes, one will receive on amongst the following grades: AA (10/10) AB( 9/10) BB (8/10) BC(7/10) CC(6/10) CD(5/10) DD(4/10) FF ( Fail with Re-exam) FR( Fail with repeat) XX(Low attendance) AU(Audit Grade) AP (Aaapne Phoda!!)

Dropping Courses
If say one finds a course too hectic/notinteresting/difficult, one has an option to drop that course*. If one drops a course, it will not be reflected on the transcript/report card. However, one will have to make the dropped credits in the subsequent Sems.

*Note for R.As:- Mostly, a bit painful to drop a course for an R.A.

Tagging Courses
If say one gets low grades in a particular course, one can make up for the lost grades by scoring well in an extra course and replacing/ tagging the respective courses. The course in which one has got a lower grade will not be counted in the overall C.P.I Note that a core course can be tagged/replaced by another core course only!!
