Wind Energy

What is wind?
Wind Is moving air caused by uneven heating of the earth s surface, always blows from an area of high pressure to an area of low pressure

Coriolis effect Influence on wind circulation by the earths rotation Monsoons Winds that blow by season toward either continents of oceans because of differences in air pressure and air temperature

2 Types of monsoons
1.Amihan Wind blows during December to February. It is a cold winds 2. Habagat Wind blows during June to September. Brings rain and cold but often hot winds.

What is wind energy?

Wind energy or Wind power
are created by the sun's uneven heating of the atmosphere in combination with the irregular surface of the earth and the earth's rotation. These winds can be "harvested" using wind turbines and used to make electricity. The force of the wind makes the wind turbine blades spin, and the energy of this motion is converted into electricity by a generator.

How Can We Use Energy from the Wind?

Wind turbines can convert the energy in the wind into mechanical power that can be used for a variety of activities like pumping water. Wind turbines can also use generators to convert wind energy into electricity.

Wind Turbines
This is an example of wind farm which is consist of many wind turbine to produce power and generator. In a wind farm you need to consider the air or wind blows to make the blade of wind turbine spin.

Disadvantages of wind Energy

The winds unreliability factor. In many areas, the winds strength is too low to support a wind turbine or wind farm. Wind turbines generally produce a lot less electricity than the average fossil fuelled power station, requiring multiple wind turbines to be built in order to make an impact. Wind turbine construction can be very expensive and costly to surrounding wildlife during the build process. The noise pollution from commercial wind turbines is sometimes similar to a small jet engine. Protests and petitions usually confront any proposed wind farm development. People feel the countryside should be left in tact for everyone to enjoy it's beauty.
