Who God Is
God is who the
Bible (in its
totality) reveals
Him to be.
We will experience
God more completely
as we come to
understand Him
more clearly.
The Bible Reveals
God To Be …
• All Good
• All Powerful
• All Wise
• He is originally good:
Good in Himself, which nothing else is.
• He is essentially good:
Not only good, but He is goodness itself.
• He is infinitely good:
There is no measure to His goodness.
• He is immutably good:
There was never a time when God was
more or less good. He never changes.
• He is originally powerful:
Powerful in Himself, which nothing else
is.
• He is essentially powerful:
Not only powerful, but He is power itself.
• He is infinitely powerful:
There is no measure to His power.
• He is immutably powerful:
There was never a time when God was
more or less powerful. He doesn’t
change.
• He is originally wise:
Wise in Himself, which nothing else is.
• He is essentially wise:
Not only wise, but He is wisdom itself.
• He is infinitely wise:
There is no measure or limit to His
wisdom.
• He is immutably wise:
There was never a time when God was
more or less wise. He never changes.
Jesus was and is the perfect
representation of God the
Father.
• He is the revelation of God’s
goodness.
• He is the demonstration God’s
power.
• He is the manifestation of God’s
wisdom.
With the goodness of God to
desire our highest welfare,
the wisdom of God to plan it,
and the power of God to
achieve it, what do we lack?

favored of all creatures.

Is God?

Eternal
Eternity?
Forever
 Eternity?
God didn’t have a
beginning and He will
never have an ending.
 God
is
“uncaused”
God has no
potentiality.

God is
actuality!
 God was
when nothing
else was.
Genesis 21:33
Then Abraham
planted a tamarisk
tree at Beersheba, and
there he worshiped
the LORD, the Eternal
God.
Isaiah 57:15
The high and lofty one
who lives in eternity,
the Holy One, says
this:
1 Timothy 1:17
All honor and glory to
God forever and ever!
He is the eternal King,
the unseen one who
never dies; he alone is
God.
1 Timothy 6:16
He alone can never die, and
He lives in light so brilliant
that no human can
approach Him. No human
eye has ever seen Him, nor
ever will. All honor and
power to Him forever!
Revelation 1:8
 “I am the Alpha and the
Omega - the beginning and
the end,” says the Lord God.
“I am the one who is, who
always was, and who is still
to come - the Almighty
One.”
 Eternity?
1. Without beginning or
end.
2. Free from all succession
of time.
3. God is the cause of
time.
 Eternity?
Duration without a
beginning, without an
end, and without
succession.
To God there is no
past, present, or
future. He does not
live in time but beyond
it in eternity. He is not
subject to time.
Isaiah 20:3-4
You will keep in perfect
peace all who trust in You,
all whose thoughts are
fixed on You! Trust in the
LORD always, for the
LORD GOD is the eternal
Rock.
We do not
know what the
future holds
but …
… we do know
the One who
holds the
future.
