SENTENCED TO DEATH

Success Half-Hour July 14, 2013

Romans 6:1-14

ARE YOU DEAD OR ALIVE?

"How To Be Miserable." It says,

"Think about yourself. Talk about yourself. Use "I" as often as possible. Mirror yourself continually in the opinion of others. Listen greedily to what people say about you. Expect to be appreciated. Be suspicious. Be jealous and envious. Be sensitive to slights. Never forgive a criticism. Trust nobody but yourself. Insist on consideration and respect. Demand agreement with your own views on everything. Sulk if people are not grateful to you for favours shown them. Never forget a service you have rendered. Shirk your duties if you can. Do as little as possible for others."

Introduction
The Adamic nature of man (Self) is characterised by sin. Even Jesus temptations were focused on self. Sin is a living thing. Instead of being sentenced to death many have only imprisoned ourselves. So sometimes we experience jailbreak. There is sometimes news. (see Bro Peter when he denied Jesus). Most people have shifted their focuses from the Spirit to self. Those that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth

Signs of Being Dead

Lifeless. All senses are inactive accusations and sufferings). Fruit of the Spirit. When you can receive correction and reproof from one of less stature than yourself, can humbly submit inwardly as well as outwardly, finding no rebellion or resentment rising up within your heartand even see the loving hand of the Father behind this help to walk more closely with Him that is being dead to self. (Case Study of Jesus

Action Plan
1. Self Awareness; Believers must consider themselves as dead to sin but alive to Christs purposes, priorities and plans. (Gal 2.20). 2. Self Discipline: Daniel 1:8,

3. Decide: There is a war between in our individual lives. Being the Judge only you can decide the case. Dont be a partial judge. Deal with it totally. Whatever you fail to deal with ends up dealing with you MERCILESSLY. Self is wired to be your enemy. No matter how friendly or close you are to it, it will sting you without remedy. (Gal 6.8)
4. Depend on the Holy Spirit. Rom 8:12-13. Its by Grace Ask for grace.
