Situation is worse during peak hour

Existing bridge can not cope with the increasing number of vehicles.

1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM Heavy Traffic Jam

1.3 PURPOSE OF THE STUDIES

Minimize time and expenses lost Reduce psychological effect on transport user Find out the actual situation, users feeling during the traffic jam Understand the total impact if the traffic jams issues does not resolve.

1.4 OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY



To determine cause of traffic jam in Penang Bridge. To investigate effect of traffic congestion to all bridge consumer in Penang.
To analyze and give recommendation for traffic improvement. Recommendation is based on the result obtained from bridges user.

1.5 RESEARCH QUESTIONS What are the factors that causes traffic congestion in Penang Bridge? What is the effect to user when traffic congested?

How to overcome the traffic problem in Penang Bridge?

1.6 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Reduce the stress level and improve their emotional health


Looking at the economical factor. Higher purchasing power means there are more vehicles on the road and small area like Penang Island, results in worse traffic jam Effects of traffic jam and propose recommendations for improvement. This is important in order to make some preparation to face the heavy traffic jam physically and psychologically
