Mobile Instant Messaging:

Instant Messaging (IM) can be broadly defined as "an Internet protocol (IP)-based application that provides communication between users that are simultaneously online". Instant Messaging is a means of text communication between person to person (or multiperson) / members of a predefined group. It is characterized by various features, like interactive nature of text dialogue box and presence, which allows users to see whether other members on their contact list are online and available (or not) to engage in communication.

Project MOST (Mobile Operators Shared Towers)

COAI has played an active role in promoting

infrastructure sharing in India. To provide better coverage and quality to the subscribers. To avoid undue proliferation of towers by leveraging the benefits of technological innovations to improve the city skyline. To make Cellular Mobile Communications more affordable for the subscribers by reducing the costs for Service Providers.

Subscriber Verification
The Indian GSM Operators are making all out efforts

to meet Government objectives of increasing teledensity through aggressive growth and expansion of services.
Project Key role - Subscriber awareness & process of

subscriber verification.
COAI also carried out some independent audits.

Emf Health & Safety

It is most important to note that the RF radiations emitted

by Mobile Communication Systems lie in the non-ionizing part of the electromagnetic spectrum and thus do not have enough energy to cause any genetic damage.
It is relevant to mention that for several decades extensive

RF research has been undertaken by researchers of the highest integrity at organizations like World Health Organization, British Medical Association, these studies does not demonstrate any substantive link between human health risks and the use of digital mobile phones.
