God as an Entrepreneur

The first example of entrepreneurship ever recorded in the bible is that of God in creation God exhibited all the characteristics of the true entrepreneur He was a problem solver Gen 1:3 He was a leader Gen 1: 26 He was a team player Gen 1: 26 He persevered He was creative Gen 2:21

He was a risk taker He was in control He never gave up on his work and the things he had passion for He is not afraid of bringing out new things He is hard working (we know he never sleeps nor slumbers) He takes responsibility

Man as an Entrepreneur
Prov. 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. The first mandate of man towards entrepreneurship is as seen in Gen 2: 15 God has deposited in each and everyone of His children a special and unique talent/skill that provides a solution to mans ever increasing problems

If God has given us an example of entrepreneurship and his word tells us we are made in His image and after his likeness then it goes without saying that we have no reason but to follow His example. His word tells us this ye are gods! this means we are definitely able to do that which Jesus Christ did Jesus was the son of a carpenter and He worked as a carpenter before his ministry started

Who is an entrepreneur

According to the Gen 2:15 an Entrepreneur is that person who is able to obey Gods command to dress and keep the land that He has given us An entrepreneur is a creator, problem solver and solution provider An entrepreneur is that person who can combine talent with passion to create a business and be a blessing

Becoming an entrepreneur

Identify your special gift or talent Develop said talent or skills through investment in training, books, seminars, workshops Set a vision Habakkuk 2:2-3 Identify areas of strength and leverage on them Build a block every step of the way

Identifying Gifts and Talents

What are those things that you find joy in doing? What is it that you do without stress of thinking twice? Or what are those things you wish you could do? What problem do you see around you and you think you have a solution to?

Developing through Investment

Learning is a constant thing that never ends Before Jesus started his ministry he invested his time in learning at the synagogue There is a never ending debate of whether leaders are born or made; the answer is yes to both The same goes for entrepreneurs; an entrepreneur is born and made Born through inheritance and made through learning

Setting your vision

Write your vision Make it simple People should be able to understand it Make it time bound Your vision should be able to speak Your vision must be able to persevere i.e. stand the test of time

Identifying strength
Determine what you are good at; Everyone is good at something find yours. Your skills is the foundation for a business Many entrepreneurs have ended up making money in areas outside their profession List the things you enjoy doing Itemize the skills you have acquired over the years

Building Blocks

The population alone means whatever you sell you will find people to buy The lack of jobs means there are a lot of gaps that exist for people to fill Advancement in technology means information are available at our beck and call All we need do is be willing to work hard and work SMART

Therefore

What we need are Obedience to Gods command to dress and keep Identifying and investing in becoming a better person through learning Setting goals and visions that we can meet and working towards meeting them Building a block at a time and creating a business out of the gift that God has given us

Remember

3 men were given talents in the bible Two made use of them and were promoted 1 did not and was demoted We do not have an excuse to be without a job God has promised to bless the work of our hand
