Introduction First and foremost, As we know, A lot of researcher believe that roleplay can improve students ability to communicate

in English. Stern (1980), said that role-play is important in learning foreign language. So, this project will examine the role of roleplaying in English Language Education(pronunciation).

Research question.
This study has only 2 research question.

The first research question is about


What are the perception of teachers trainees of IPG Kent on the role of role plays in improving pronunciation in English Language?

And the second research question is


Does role plays can create active learning sessions in English Language classroom?

Methodology

The sample of this study consist of


30 teachers trainees from Pismp January 2012 intake. We took them because most of them had been involved in musical sketch last month. besides that, we took 1 respondent among lecturer from Language department to be interviewed. And lastly, we use a group of students consist of 5 teacher trainees for the second session of interview.

From the graph, we can see that 83% of students wanted to be involved in English role play. Like umar said before, they want to learn Englsih, but the have problem with that. They worried about society perception. So, by involving themselves in role play, they think that they can overcome their problem in order to learn English especially in pronunciation skill.

It is also proven that 94% of students agree that role plays can help them to improve their pronunciation skill. This is because, during role play, they are not afraid to speak, they are not afraid to do mistake as their friends are also at the same level. So, they can correct each other.

It is significant to 89% of students think that they feel confident to speak in English during role play. During role play, students can speak confidently because they do not afraid to pronounce the english words even though they know that their pronunction skill is no so good. They only think that they want to learn..and wnt to improve their skill of pronunciation.

The students believe that role plays can create English language classroom because it gives fun to them. In a role playing situation, students get the opportunity to practice skills they might not use on a regular basis. Skills such as debating, acting, reasoning and negotiating can be flexed in hypothetical situations when they cannot normally be used in a classic classroom situation. Students are also able to adapt to situations they might not normally find themselves in, forcing the creativity of the students to be exerted.

From the question 3 , it can be concluded that role plays help students to enhance their pronunciation. This is because, role plays give students space to speak in English. It also allows and trains students to be able use the language confidently. In addition, it gives students a chance to know their level of pronunciation skill . From that, students will learn how to pronounce the words correctly. From the last question It can be conclude that role plays can create an English language classroom. Role play is an activity which involves movement. During role play, students do not only make a movement, but at the same time, they can have fun and can learn to improve their communication skill in English.
