PRESENTATION ON TENTH FIVE YEAR PLAN

TENTH FIVE YEAR PLAN (2002-2007)


INTRODUCTION:-

The 10th five year plan (2002-2007) target at a GDP growth rate of 8%/annual. the primary aim of the 10th five year plan is to renovate the nation extensively, making it competent enough with some of the fastest growing economic across the globe. It also intends to initiate an economic growth of 10%on an annual basis. Like all other five year plans, the 10th five year plan is also devised , executed and supervised by the planning commission of India.

Reduction of poverty ratio to 20% by 2007 and 10% by 2012. Providing gainful employment to the addition to the labour force over the tenth plan period. Reduction of the decadal rate of population growth between 2001 and 2011 to 16.2%

Increase in forest and free cover to 25% by 2007 and 33% by 2012

All village to have access to potable drinking water by 2012. 10. Cleaning of all major polluted rivers by 2007 and other notified stretcher by 2012.

In the tenth five year plan, the gross investment as a ratio of GDP will be 32.6% out of which 29.8% will be domestic saving and balance 2.8% would external barrowing.

Modification of policies according to current needs. Streamlined management of financial and administrative capabilities of the countary. Providing conducive environment for the private sector. Greater flexibility in fiscal and monetary polices for greater growth of the economy.

According importance to the performance of the laggard states. Continuous effort to ensure equity and social justice. Attention towards sector which had large employment potential. Agriculture development to be taken as the care of the plan to ensure overall growth.

BUDGET
Based

on availability of resources for outlay for the tenth plan was approved for Rs. 46,614 crores However , the ultimate actual plan location for the tenth plan worked out to Rs.69,511 crores with an increase of nearly 49% over the approved outlay.

PERFORMANCE Target growth 81% growth achieved 77%. Cleaning of major polluted river stretches. The target GDP growth for the plan was 8% but by the end of the period it reached an actual of 5.9 %. The secondary sector including manufacturing and electricity, gas and water supply grew at rate of 5.37 against the target of 7.12%.
