ABSTRACT
To assist project managers in managing the challenges of

highly complex projects Project Management Information System (PMIS) Model was generated. In order to assess the impact of PMIS model on Project Management Decision Making (PMDM) process a survey was conducted by designing and distributing the questionnaire to 170 employees. The result illustrated that the effect of PMIS was highly useful and efficient in project management decision making in each phase of project life-cycle.

INTRODUCTION
The project management is a multifaceted process in which the

projects need to be highly administered, providing high performance while managing project risks. The work breakdown structure (WBS), critical path method (CPM) and the program evaluation and review technique (PERT) and Gantt chart are the technical solutions that help in effective project management. Some project managers does not clearly identify the risk related to the project which may lead to failure in accomplishing projects objective. The problems faced by the project managers can be diminished by acquiring Project Management Information Systems (PMIS). PMIS helps the top managers in decision making process with regards to selecting, planning, organizing and controlling projects and portfolios.

CONTRIBUTION OF RESEARCH
Some authors have described Project Management

tool as systematic procedure or practices that project managers use for producing specific project management deliverables. Meredith and Mantel (2006) found that use of IT has a major impact in problem solving during all the phases of project life-cycle. The task of PMIS supplies project managers by essential information on the cost-time performance parameters of a project and on the relationship of these parameters (Raymond L., 1987)

CONTRIBUTION OF RESEARCH
In the IT industry, Gartner Research has estimated

that 75% of large IT projects supported by PMIS will succeed, while 75% of projects without such support will fail (Light M. 2005) Davenport and Harris, 2007 imply that there is research evidence suggesting that better use of information can improve decision making. The literatures evaluated project management as a significant feature for the success of any organization. It is highly essential in supporting project managers for developing efficient decision making process.

METHODOLOGY
Dependant variable effective and efficient project management decision making process
Independent variables following are the independant

variables used in this research paper

Information quality (IQ) Analytical quality (AQ) System quality (SQ) Technical quality (TQ) Communication quality (CQ) Decision maker's quality (DmQ)

RESEARCH MODEL AND HYPOTHESIS

HYPOTHESIS TESTED
The following are the main four out of the eight

hypotheses that is selected to find out what is the impact of PMIS on PMDM
Hypothesis 3: There is a significant positive relationship

between information quality and effective and efficient project management decision making process.
Hypothesis 4: There is a significant positive relationship

between analytical quality and effective and efficient project management decision making process.

Hypothesis 7: There is a significant positive

relationship between communication quality and effective and efficient project management decision making process.
Hypothesis 8: There is a significant positive

relationship between decision maker quality and effective and efficient project management decision making process.

DATA COLLECTION AND RESEARCH METHOD

Data collection
A questionnaire were designed distributed to 170 employees(member of 3 project teams) Total of 16 questions based on finding out the hypothesis and were

required to answer using scale method.

Research Methods
For analysizing the data, the author have used statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) and adopted following methods Correlation Analysis Regression Analysis ANOVA test method Regression coeffecients PMDM = 0 + 1 (IQ) + 2 (AQ) + 3 (CQ) + 4 (DmQ) +

RESULTS
CORRELATION ANALYSIS

INTERPRETATION
The result of correlation reveals that...
INDEPENDANT FACTORS INFORMATION QUALITY ANALYTICAL QUALITY DECISION-MAKERS QUALITY COMMUNICATION QUALITY EFFECT ON DEPENDANT FACTOR POSITIVE POSITIVE POSITIVE REASON/SUPPORTER S r=0.222, n=158, p<.005 R=0.260, n=158, p<0.001 r= 0.511, n=158 ,p<0.0005

NEGATIVE

r= -0.005, n=158, p> 0.05

REGRESSION ANALYSIS
Linear regression

P < 0.0005 which is less than 0.05 and indicates that, overall, the model applied is significantly good enough in predicting the outcome variable.

REGRESSION (COEFFICIENTS)

PMDM = 0 + 0.287(IQ) + 0.196 (AQ) -0.588 (CQ) + 0.912 (DmQ) +

CONCLUSION
Based on the above correlation and regression

results we reject the null hypothesis (H0) and accept the alternative hypothesis (H1) of all measured independent variables (H3, H4 and H8) exceptH7.
Selecting communication quality as a factor in PMIS conceptual model should be revised Highly professional decision makers are required to have successful PMIS
