STEP 5: Write simple sentences.


An assistant is coming to take orders. Three girls are riding on the wooden horses. Two boys are playing at the see-saw. A boy and a girl are running to the playground. An assistant is attending to the lady. A waitress is carrying a tray. The customers are sitting at the table. A lady is ordering some food. A boy is sliding down at the slide. The customers are talking to each other.

STEP 6: Combine simple sentences to form compound sentences.

Example 1
Simple sentence 1:

A lady is ordering some food.


Simple sentence 2:

An assistant is attending to the lady.


Compound sentence:

A lady is ordering some food and an assistant is attending to her.

Example 2 Simple sentence 1: Three girls are riding on the wooden horses. Simple sentence 2: Two boys are playing at the see-saw. Compound sentence: Three girls are riding on the wooden horses while two boys are playing at the see-saw.

Example 3 Simple sentence 1: A waitress is carrying a tray. Simple sentence 2: The customers are sitting at the table.

Compound sentence: A waitress is carrying a tray to the customers, who are sitting at the table.

STEP 7: Write complex sentences with adjectives and adverbs


The waitress, who is wearing an apron and a cap on her head, is carrying a tray of food to the customers, who are sitting patiently at the table. Two women with handbags on their shoulders, are ordering food from the assistants, who are standing smilingly near the delicious food displayed at the counter. Two happy children are running to the playground to join the others who are busily playing at the see-saw and the wooden horses.

STEP 7: Write the sentences


1. The boy with his hands up, is sliding down the slides. 2. Two boys sitting on the see-saw plank, are playing the seesaw. 3. Three girls at the playground, are riding on the wooden horses. 4. A girl with a ponytail, is running towards the playground. 5. A waitress wearing an apron, is carrying a tray of food. 6. A man and a woman sitting at the table, are talking to each other. 7. Two ladies with handbags at their shoulders, are ordering some food. 8. The assistants with caps are attending to the two ladies.

STEP 8: Add adjectives and adverbs for compound and complex sentences.
1. The boy with his hands up, is sliding very fast down the slides while the two boys, sitting on the see-saw plank, are playing happily at the see-saw. 2. Three girls, who are at the playground, are riding cheerfully on the wooden horses. 3. A boy and a girl with a ponytail, are eagerly running towards the playground to join the others. 4. A pretty waitress, who is wearing an apron and a cap on her head, is carrying carefully a tray of food to the customers, who are sitting at the table. 5. Two ladies with handbags at their shoulders, are ordering some delicious food while the two assistants with caps on their heads, are attending patiently to them.
