What these results tell me.

The majority of people that completed may survey are 15 20 years old and about 2 thirds are female, so the answers will help be understand a young audience that is mostly female. Out of the people who do read music magazines most of them said that they KERRANG! the most, but second and third are NME and Q which is useful to me because these magazines are a similar genre to mine so from my research I can get a good idea of the sort of person that is likely to buy my magazine. When I asked What genre/s of music are you most interested in?, the most common answer was Rock, followed by Electronic, and Pop. R&B and Hip Hop trailed behind. This tells me that I should focus on artists from the Rock, Electronic and Pop genres mainly and include some R&B and Hip Hop artists every now and then. From this research I also learned that the main reason people will buy a magazine is because they like the artist that is featured, which shows that I need to be sure that the artist I choose to be on the cover of my magazine will appeal to this audience. Design and price are also relevant factors in whether someone will buy my magazine or not. Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are the most common websites used by the people that I asked so it will probably be a good idea to use some of these sites to advertise and interact with my audience.

People answered that they want to see information such as backstories, personal life of artists, information on tour dates and album releases, up and coming artists and album reviews so to appeal to this audience I should include these things in my magazine.
