A temperate climate and a picturesque landscape next to mountains,

rivers and a lake
all contribute to the exceptional location of the school.
The Educational Qualification Technological Centre
in Microprocessor Technologies /Computer School/
at The Technical University in Sofia

(PG po KTS)
was founded in 1986
by government decree 20 years ago
at the dawn of the computer age.
The need for specialists in the area of computer technologies
was the reason to create a new educational curriculum, which
combined the general subjects, serious language training in
English and technical education in information technologies
and a special focus on the programming sphere.

The school was founded with the express goal of preparing

students to be successful in their future education, career and life.
Today, after 23 years,
the technical school has educated more
than 2000 specialists, who work
in software manufacturing companies
in Bulgaria and around the world.
In this aspect we are proud that more than 95% of our
graduates go on to universities
in the fields of technical studies, economics, medicine
and law.

Today, in the majority of IT companies in Bulgaria the

employees started their education in the Computer School.
The school aims to prepare specialists in microprocessor
technology.
The curriculum is directed by the leadership of the faculty of
CST in the TU in Sofia. The teaching and lecture positions at
the school are academically competitive, and all professors
have academic tenure at the Technical University in Sofia.

Some of the turtles in the school’s very own

English Garden.
The students are intelligent, talented and ambitious.
They come to Pravets from different places, but are then
united by the common school ideals of respect, creativity
and friendship.
The educational curriculum covers the standard national
guidelines in the general subjects in addition to the special
focus on technology.
The focus in the first year is on education in English
with 15 classroom hours weekly. 19 technical subjects
are organized as lectures. Each subject has laboratorial
practice in classrooms with the newest specialized
technologies and models.
After the students have obtained thorough knowledge in
analog and digital technologies, they start a 3-year course
in modern programming languages.
This is carried out with the support of The Ministry of
Education and Science.
The National Agency for Informational Technologies and
Communication, the Technical University Sofia,
Microprocessor systems LTD, IBM Bulgaria, Microsoft,
Perlsoft and many others also support the school.
The school possesses an excellent campus that includes
classrooms, laboratories, and lecture halls.
12 of them are specialized laboratories for professional training,
3 are lecture halls with 100-150 seats provided with video
techniques, a library, 18 classrooms, and 2 language studies.
Our students receive a lot of educational prizes.

The above team received a big prize (1000 EURO)

from the Educational Ministry for participating in the
computer program “Star Guide”.
Another big prize is the second place prize our students won in a
national competition with their web page “Variable Stars”. Some of
them participate in national Physics and Astronomical Olympiads and
conferences.
Students from our school also win first places in local, national and
international mathematical competitions, one of them is the „European
Kangaroo”. They are also successful in the ICT area.

The students from our school have different interests. Our basketball
team won the National Basketball Championship for High-School
students in 2006 and second place in 2005.
We participate on a lot of European projects:

1.”Europa 2000 without pollution. Reality or Utopia?”

2. “Sharing European Products in the past, present and

future.”

3. „The use of IT in everyday teaching“

4. “E-learning and Web2 tools as means of enhancing

education outcomes and establishing transnational
cooperation.”
The manufacturing practice is being held at a specialized
educational factory.

The school provides a dormitory,

Each room has a bathroom, internet connection, and cable TV.
The hostel is equipped with a fitness center and an aerobics hall.
The school canteen offers breakfast, lunch and dinner to the student body.
Another focus in the educational curriculum is a diverse physical education
program. The students practice sports at least 2 afternoons weekly and they
can choose the sport they prefer. Some of the sports offered are basketball,
volleyball, football, orienteering, aerobics or fitness. The educational plan
includes obligatory sports camps for winter sports, water sports, and
orienteering.
