Risk Assessment
Step 1: Identify the Hazard
During the inspection of the establishment it was
found that there were several pieces of electrical
equipment that were out of order and
malfunctioning
There were at least 3 kitchen appliances that were
found to have serious faults, such as broken
valves, frayed power cords and exposed live wires.
This damage was caused by workers tripping on
wires because they were laid across the floor.
During an inspection it was found that the
appliances were still in use because the owner had
not replaced or repaired them.
Due to the wet environment in the kitchen, there is
a high risk of workers being electrocuted by
attempting to use the damaged equipment.
Step 2: Risk assessment
