COST ESTIMATION AND INVENTORY FEEDBACK

OBJECTIVE
The main objective of this project is to generate the total cost of a cooling tower model. Total Cost = Product Cost (Cost of Individual Components) + Shipping Costs (Cost of Transportation) + Installation Cost (Optional) This application also helps with Inventory Management by keeping track of the in-store components and sending an error message when the store falls short of components. Sales : Displays the sales for the current fiscal year with graphs based on the cooling tower model and region of sales.

HARRISON COOLING TOWERS

Harrison Cooling Towers Pvt. Ltd. is one of the leading cooling tower manufacturing company established in 1980s that operates out of Mumbai, India. It has been catering to the various requirements of the domestic as well as industrial needs in the national and international market. It is a made to order company, one which manufactures products when orders are received. Types of cooling towers are produced are, 1. Round Cooling Towers, 2. Square Cooling Towers, 3. Closed Circuit Cooling Towers, 4. Evaporative Air Cooling Towers

ROUND COOLING TOWERS

There are 8 types of cooling towers of varied capacity which are produced here, their Model Numbers are, HCT - 3075, HCT - 3101, HCT - 3102, HCT - 3251, HCT - 3311, HCT - 3353, HCT - 3511, HCT - 3512. The various components which go into making these cooling towers are, Motors, Blades, Basin, Headers, Flanges, Honeycomb Fills, FRP body, Bolts, Nuts, Washers and Ladders. 4

APPROACH
Initially decided the flow of user forms and worksheets. Created the MySQL Database which carries all the data. Created all the Forms in Excel VBA. Linked all the forms with MySQL Database using ODBC connector 5.1. Generated costs involved using the data input by the user on VBA and data from MySQL. Provided Graphical representative of sales according to the region as well as the model.

WORKING
User logs into the system. Chooses his desired operation (New Order or Inventory or Sales). New Order Takes the model number, shipping location as well as need for installation as the input and accordingly generates the various costs in the following form. The following form generates the individual costs displaying the sum of all of them to the user. It gives the user the option to attach the estimate and brochure in a mail and send it to the customer. Inventory The necessary component is the input, an array of types of that component is displayed with the quantity and threshold limit. It would throw an error if the available quantity is below the threshold, asking the user to make necessary arrangements.

7 Sales Generates the sales for that fiscal year according to the region or model. It displays the graphical representation of the sales on request.
