CHOOSING THE RIGHT FONT SIZE HELPS TO GET YOUR MESSAGE ACROSS.
The following measurements indicate the size of a font on your computer screen, not projected on a screen for your audience in full screen mode. To enable full screen mode, on the View tab, in the Presentation Views group, click Slide Show.

A one-inch letter is readable from 10 feet. A two-inch letter is readable from 20 feet. A three-inch letter is readable from 30 feet.

RULE NUMBER ONE

To maintain a clear message and to keep your audience attentive and interested, keep the number of slides in your presentation to a minimum.
DR.T.V.RAO MD

STICK TO STANDARD AND COMMONLY USED FONTS AVOID UNFAMILIAR FONTS

Choosing the right font style, such as Helvetica or Arial, helps to get your message across. Avoid narrow fonts, such as Arial Narrow, and avoid fonts that include fancy edges, such as Times.

Do not create crazy fonts

KEEP YOUR TEXT SIMPLE DO NOT READ BUT EXPLAIN You want your audience to listen to you present your information, rather than read the screen
DR.T.V.RAO MD

You can remove articles such as "a" and "the" to help reduce the word count on a line.

SOME POWER POINTS ARE TERRIBLE

Some people have made terrible PowerPoint presentations that actually hinder their speaking ability. By following these steps you can make a very effective, clean, and professional looking PowerPoint that will impress anyone.

DR.T.V.RAO MD

MAKE YOURSELF SIMPLE OR ELSE BORING

Use short sentences and phrases, keep your text short. Remember the 5 by 5 rule. Five bullets with less than 5 words each. Please, no long paragraphs or slide long quotes!

DO NOT MAKE YOURSELF SLOPPY AND SLIPPERY

If you use slide transitions stick to only one, don't try to mix it up because then it will look sloppy. (Note: just because you should stick to one slide transition does not mean that you should only stick to one animation.)
DR.T.V.RAO MD

11

AUDIENCE IS YOUR STRENGTH DO NOT LOOSE CONTACT

Appear that you're speaking to the people in the audience, instead of just the audience.
DR.T.V.RAO MD

TITLES ARE MATTER OF ATTRACTION TRY TO BE SHORT

DR.T.V.RAO MD

Make titles short and to the point after you have filled in the information. (in other words make your titles last)

13

BE A TEACHER NOT POWER POINT PRESENTER

Use attention grabbers to get listeners interested in your subject. Try to improve the subject
DR.T.V.RAO MD

14

MAKE THE MATTERS CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL

A fade in animation looks clean and professional.

DR.T.V.RAO MD

15

CHANGE IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED

CHANGE THE FORMAT Change the format of your slides often (i.e. change your text from left to right, and pictures from left to right, etc...
DR.T.V.RAO MD

16

RESTRICT THE ANIMATIONS YOUR AUDIENCE WILL FORGET YOU

Don't use animations that distract from your points and don't use them too often.
DR.T.V.RAO MD

17

DO NOT READ TRY TO EXPLAIN

Don't use sentences, it is too tempting to try to just read off the PowerPoint presentation, and thus, the presentation will become boring and interminable

PICTURES SHOULD BE SIMPLE SMALL LIKE A FAIRY TALE

Use pictures as your background often. It catches the readers attention and makes your powerpoint look professional. However, make sure you find large pictures so they aren't blurry.

19

STAY ON TIME.
If you plan a certain amount of time for your presentation, do not go over. If there is no time limit, take less time rather than more to ensure that people stay engaged.
DR.T.V.RAO MD

20

DO NOT LOSE CONTACT WITH YOUR STUDETNS

Each time that you deliver a presentation, monitor your audience's behaviour. If you observe people focusing on your slides, the slides may contain too much data or be confusing or distracting in some other way. Use the information you learn each time to improve your future presentations
