Nelson Bossing (1961) gives two types of lesson plans: Memorized Written 1.

1. Expression in written form leads to clarity of thought. 2. Protection against forgetting is insured. 3. A written lesson plan is an aid to mastery.

4. A written plan forms the basis of later improvement. Among types of lesson plans given by Gerald A. Yoakam and R.G. Simpson (1949) are: 1.Syllabus or outline 2.Unit plans 3.Detailed study guides 4.Mimeographed exercises 5.Workbooks 6.Daily plans

Schorling gives three types of plans: 1. The curriculum area 2. The unit plan 3. The daily lesson

Daily lesson plans may be classified as: 1. Detailed 2. Semidetailed 3. Brief

A beginning teacher should be trained in writing detailed lesson plans for many reasons: 1. It helps him master what he is to teach and gives him confidence. 2. It helps him foresee chidrens reaction and forewarns him about problems that may arise. 3. It gives critic teacher s a chance to go over what the student teacher plans to do and to give suggestions or to make corresctions and thus prevents mistakes in actual teaching.

In planning the lesson or course the teacher must be sensitive to the philosophy or aims, policies, and practices of the school to which he or she belongs.
In planning classroom activities for the pupils or students, three types of plans are often used, namely: 1. Course Plan - It gives a general overview of the goals to be achieved and the learning experiences to be provided for the quarter or year.

. course planning the following elements are In to be considered:

1. Stating the general aims or goals of the course. 2. Defining the broad scope and sequence of learning experiences. 3. Outlining the possible teaching units. 2. The daily Lesson Plan - This refers to each day plan which has to do with a specific part of the unit to be dealt with during the given class period.

An ordinary daily lesson plan contains the following elements: 1. General and specific aims to be accomplished. 2. Subject matter to be taught or activities to be performed. 3. Methods or procedures to be used to accomplished the aims. 4. Criteria for evaluation to appraise the success of teaching and learning. 5. Other activities such as assignment, projects, and references to be used by the class.

The essential elements of a good daily lesson plan are the following:
1. The daily lesson plan should indicate a clear understanding of the aims to be achieved. 2. The daily lesson plan should definitely correlate the new lesson to the previous work of the course. 3. The daily lesson plan should provide for the selection and organization of subjectmatter, materials and activities. 4. The daily lesson plan should indicate the application of appropriate of teaching procedures to the lesson.

5. The daily lesson plan should provide for the proper evaluation of success in the realization of the aims and objectives. 6. The daily lesson plan should project todays lesson into tomorrows situation. 7. The daily lesson plan should contain provision to meet individual difference. 8. The daily lesson plan should have provision for review or drill. 9. The daily lesson plan should include the assignment for the pupils or students.

3. The Teaching Unit Plan - This plan covers a unit of a course for teaching. This plan is usually used when the basic textbook is divided into units.
