Aim of the project

Study of the sky: constellations, their brightest stars, the brightest nebulae and galaxies in these constellations, and finally the planets. To estimate the activity level of the Sun Without any support! or help of the teacher

What do we use?
Laptop Middle size amateur telescope
We use Celestron Nexstar 8SE, with 203mm primary mirror With installed Stellarium software

Narrow band (red) filter Solar filter, made by ourselves

How to get familiar with the night sky?

We can identify the brightest stars of the constellationsand therefore recognize the constellations.

Ursa Major

How to get familiar with the night sky?

The next step is to find the coordinates of the interested object, just searching its name in Stellarium.

How to get familiar with the night sky?

We can also recognize the position of the interested object via identification of the brightest objects of its neighborhood.

How to get familiar with the night sky?

We can give these coordinates to the telescope

and observe the interested object.

How do we calculate the solar activity?

We use our solar filter and filter to observe the Sun: And finally estimate its activity level via Wolf findinformation a sunspotsabout number, without having any and groups the forecast of the solar activity level of : sunspots = 10 +
Where, The the value s is thehigher number ofis individual spots, of R, the g is the number of sunspot groups, and higher activity has the sun!!! k is a factor that varies with location and instrumentation.

The innovation
The innovation of this project is that the pupil or person who is not familiar with the sky and particularly with the constellations and various types of objects in them, can start to study the sky by his own, without any support, just using the laptop and the amateur telescope. Additional innovation is that the person, who will be interested in, could predict the solar activity level, and therefore prevent himself from the peril of the enormous solar activities.
