Stapati was established in the year 1989 by Ar. Tony Joseph. Within a short span of time it has emerged as one of the leading architectural consultancy firms in the state with offices in Calicut, Cochin and Bangalore with an associate office in Dubai. The firm is known for its creative design solutions and attention to detail. Now the firm has transformed into four partnership firms as STAPATI Calicut, STAPATI Kochi, STAPATI Bangalore and STAPATI International Management service (SIMS).

AR. TONY JOSEPH


Tony Joseph is the principal architect of STAPATI. He completed his B.Arch from MIT , Manipal and M.Arch from university of texas ,Austin. Before starting his own firm Stapati in 1989 he has worked in Delhi, Bangalore and Auroville. He is also the past chairman of Calicut centre of Indian Institute of architects. He has designed the Kumarakom lake resort in Kerala one of the top five resort in India. Apart from the many projects in India he has also done many projects internationally and under his guidance the firm also designed a $300 million resort at Cape Ternay, for the Emirates hotel, Dubai.

ORGANISATIONAL SETUP

Ar. Devraj A partner architect in STAPATI he completed his B.Arch from college of Engineering Trivandrum, Kerela. He joined STAPATI in 2003 and has been involved in various projects like Commercial building , apartments, residences, interiors etc.

Ar. Mohandas He is also a partner architect in STAPATI. He completed his B.Arch from College of engineering, Trivandrum in year 1995. He joined STAPATI in the same year and ever since has been involved in residential and commercial projects

The designing work is handled by the senior architects and architects while the junior architects or trainees are given he drafting and drawing works . The 3d modeling works are handled by the trainees. In some cases the are allowed to assist the senior architects A landscape supervisor controls the landscape design with help of design assistants

INTERIOR DESIGN TEAM The interior design is handles by the interior designers Sonia Tony and Suresh with assistance from various Design assistants and trainees. Design assistants regulate the coordination between the architecture and interior design teams while the trainees handle drafting and 3d modeling work

This team consists of the project coordinator who handle the construction activity on site with help of site engineers to carry out the site surveys and keep a check on the quality of construction. Design assistants from the architecture design teams coordinate with the engineers to ensure safe design and also to ensure proper design execution on site.

ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF The administrative staff is responsible for regulating the various activities within the office like managing project reports, drawing records, accounts and financial transaction, pay to employees, approvals for projects, complaints and legal issues etc.

Small scale projects like residences are handled by architects with assistance from trainees. The team will include one architect and two to three trainees In case the interiors are to be designed depending upon the financial input by client the work is handled by separate team of interiors designers or the architectural trainees.

For large scale commercial projects the team consists of a senior architect assisted by architects and trainees . There is a separate team for interior design and landscaping works. The engineering aspects are also handled by a separate team

ORGANISATIONAL SETUP

The interaction with client is generally handled by the senior architects while site works are coordinated by junior architects and trainees .
Decision regarding hiring of employees are under the control management which hires individuals on basis of their capabilities. Trainees are usually paid in range of 3-10 thousands depending upon the skill set. Financial decisions are completely under control of the management Dismissal are made on basis of performance and the company gives a prior notice of one month before dismissal

ORGANISATIONAL SETUP

CONCEPT : 4000 - 10000 Rs/- for small scale projects like residence. 20000-1 lakh for commercial projects depending upon the scale.
WORKING DRAWINGS WITHOUT SUPERVISION 3.5 percent of total project

SITE VISIT - 1000-3000 Rs/- PER VISIT


TURN KEY PROJECT 7 percentage of total project.

Model making is outsourced with model cost ranging between 30000 to 5 lakhs depending upon the scale of project and quality of model.

SERVICE CHARGES

EMPLOYEMENT OPPORTUNITIES The company hires new individuals every year on basis of interviews and portfolio. They have a campus placement with college of engineering, Trivandrum , and MIT, Manipal

WORKING HOURS The usual working hours are from 9:30- 5:00 . But depending upon the work overtime is expected from employees. Saturday is given as half day till 1:00 pm Leisure facilities are provided within the office for employees and food and resting lounge are given for the comfort of employees.
