The Braille system is a method that is widely used by blind people to read and write through touch. It consists of patterns of raised dots arranged in cells of up to six dots in a 3 x 2 configuration. The six dots can be arranged in 26 combinations. There are two versions of Braille, Grade 1: Each cell represent a letter, numeral or punctuation mark. It is only used by people who are first starting to read Braille Grade 2: Each cell represent a letter, punctuation and contraction. Contractions are employed to save space. Grade 3: It is used only in personal letters, diaries and notes. It is a kind of shorthand, with entire words shortened to a few letters. Program driven relays are used to emboss corresponding holes.

Out of two types of braille script we are using Grade 1 because use of contraction creates difficulty for beginners. Braille can provide increased opportunities for literacy. Grade 1 Braille works well with phonicsbased reading programs, which are found in many elementary classrooms. Uncontracted Braille provides 1-to-1 correspondence and promotes letter/sound associations, important components of literacy instruction

We can add many more features to the software without changes in the hardware like adding basic graphics and figures like square, circle, etc. This feature can help a visually challenged person during his/her education. The system can also be modified for use as a calculator. A keypad can be interfaced to the controller. This will prove to be of great help for the students. A memory can be used to store the data & recall it when the students have spare time or no computer for new data. A buzzer can be implemented in the scheme for ever button press. Braille books including graphics and images can be made. This printer can also integrated for other regional languages of India. With the help of this software we can convert Indian epics to Braille.

We can integrate this system for other regional languages of India. In future with the help of this software we can convert holy epics to Braille so blind people can also have access to the holy epics. We can add many more features to the software without changes in the hardware like adding basic graphics and figures like square, circle, etc. This feature can help a visually challenged person during his/her education. We can also Update Dictionary and discover methods to improve speed. Braille Textbooks can be made available for increasing literacy for visually impaired.

Braille box V4 having speed of 300 char/sec costs 10995.00. Tiger Braille printer having speed of 30 char/sec costs $3,995. Braille Express printer having speed of 100 char/sec costs $11,995. This Braille printer has speed of 10 char/min costs Rs.10,000. It can be used in schools and at homes because of its cost effectiveness. Speed and thus price of this printer can be increased using high quality printers.
