There are different types of pollutions some of them are 1. Air pollution 2. Water pollution 3. Land pollution
Air pollution
Air pollution is not new- it has been with us since the industrial revolution
Water pollution
Water pollutants today, however, are much more diverse, consisting not only of organic wastes but also bacteria, viruses and sediments. These can destroy aquatic life , threaten human health and foul the water. About 40% of our surface water of today is too polluted to swim in.
The high saline levels in ponds , lakes and river kill fish,
vegetation or other organisms inhabit them.
Land pollution
Hazardous substances are those that can cause an increase in mortality rates that have other seriously adverse health or environmental effects. Toxic substances released on land include acidic chemicals, inorganic metals, flammable solvents , pesticides , herbicides, explosives, and so on. Although the health effects of some substances are now known, the toxicity of many others is unknown and difficult to determine. Many chemicals cause chronic diseases only after a long period following a persons first exposure to the chemical.
