Activities :

Teacher ask each group to carry out a simple experiment/ simulation on expansion and contraction of matter using the experiment card given. Cover the mouth of the bottle with the balloon. Then prepared 2 set and place the bottle at 2 different places. Place balloon A in the Science room and balloon B under the Sun. Ask pupils to draw their prediction on the size of the balloon. Record and compare their observation after 20 minutes. Discuss based on the observation by identify what is the renewable energy used and its effect on the matter balloon.

Teacher helps pupils to conclude that the heat from the sun can be used over and over on any other matter. Pupils give answer example of using it in daily life. Teacher used the activity (worksheet 1 page 45 no.2) provided. Teacher integrate the SPS skills by asking interpreting data question. Teacher conclude that Sun is the main source of energy. Teacher inculcate scientific value: We have to appreciate the give of nature by not harm the environment.

Aim : To investigate the relationship between the presence of heat with the expansion/contraction of matter. Resources and Materials : 2 balloons, 2 bottles Procedures: 1. Put a balloon at the mouth of a bottle. Then prepared 2 set and place the bottle at 2 different place. (Balloon A In the Science room and Balloon B under the Sun.) Ask pupils to draw their prediction on the size of the balloon Record and compare their observation after 20 minutes.
