Standard Moving Dimensions

Schedule of Dimensions provides for certain standard moving dimensions which govern the construction of rolling stock

OVER-DIMENSIONAL CONSIGNMENTS (ODC)

Dimensions of which when loaded on wagons, exceed the standard moving dimensions Movement under certain restrictions : Speed, during day or night, depending on minimum clearance available to fixed structures on the route.

Net and Gross clearances

Net clearance= Gross clearance -75mm for bounces in vertical direction

ODCs Classification

and above but are less than 6

Movement: Civil:

40 kmph (BG) Day only. Night movement also permitted with Train escort

Military:

C Class

Class C :

Extraordinary out of gauge loads ; net

clearances: < 3 With restriction of stop dead and proceed dead slow at structures having most restricted clearance. Train is to be piloted by official of the Mech. Department.
