Perception is the organization, identification, and
interpretation of sensory information in order to
represent and understand the environment
(a)The Perceiver: When an individual looks at the target and attempts to
interpret what he / she sees. Such interpretation is heavily influenced by
personal characteristics of the individual perceiver. The characteristics of
perceiver include persons needs. Past experience, habits, personality,
values, attitudes etc

For example: a negative attitude person interprets negative results and further
makes negative perception

(b) The Perceived (object): Characteristics of the target, which has been,
observed also affects the individuals perception The physical
attributes, appearance and behavior of other persons in the situation
also influences the perception.

Physical attributes of the person means age, height, weight, gender
etc.

For Example :Loud people are easily noticeable in a group in comparison
to the quite ones.
(c) The Situation: The physical, social and organizational setting of
the situation also influences individuals perception. The
situation in which we see objects or events is important. The
elements in the surrounding environment influences our
perception.

For example:- hearing a subordinate calling his / her boss by his / her
name may be perceived quite differently when observed in an office as
opposed to an evening social reception.

Emotion is a subjective , conscious experience
characterized primarily by expressions ,
reactions, and mental state.

Emotion is often associated and
considered reciprocally influential with mood ,
temperament, personality, and motivation
Fear feeling afraid. Other words are terror (strong
fear), shock, phobia
Anger feeling angry. A stronger word is rage.
Sadness feeling sad. Other words are sorrow, grief (a stronger
feeling, for example when someone has died) or depression (feeling
sad for a long time). Some people think depression is a different
emotion.
Joy feeling happy. Other words are happiness, gladness.
Disgust feeling something is wrong or dirty
Trust a positive emotion; admiration is stronger; acceptance is
weaker
Anticipation in the sense of looking forward positively to
something which is going to happen. Expectation is more neutral.
Surprise how one feels when something unexpected happens

Emotional labor is a form of emotion
regulation that creates a publicly visible facial
and bodily display . While emotion
work happens within the private sphere,
emotional labor is emotional management
within the workforce that creates a situation in
which the emotion management by workers
can be exchanged in the marketplace.
Suppose you have gone to your HR for asking
permission of holidays , and when you reach
and see that he is something in wrong mood ,so
you back out from asking permission for a
holiday.

Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to
identify, assess, and control the emotions of
oneself, of others, and of groups. It can be
divided into ability EI and trait EI.

Here are some examples for Emotional intelligence :
understanding your emotions: Understating your emotions is the first step
towards becoming emotionally intelligent
Thinking rationally about the emotion before taking an action : Emotional
decisions usually result in taking incorrect actions. For example being angry can
motivate you to do something that you regret later. By thinking rationally before
acting you will become more emotionally intelligent
putting yourself in the shoes of others: Emotional intelligence also involves
putting yourself in the shoes of others so that you can find an excuse for their
behaviour .
For example, if you were a manager and one employee was not working hard then
it wont be emotionally intelligent to directly assume that he is lazy or not keen to
work but instead you should examine his case closer to know if there are other
reasons behind it. Maybe you find that he is afraid to make mistakes or maybe you
find that he lacks self confidence in his abilities.
