FIRE PREVENTION & FIRE FIGHTING
Fire
Very useful and essential thing for human.
Required from the very birth till the last
journey.
Present day life can not be thought of
without fire.
But when uncontrolled, it becomes a
dangerous and devastating foe.
FIRE PREVENTION & FIRE FIGHTING
Fire
It is primarily a chemical reaction.
In this, combustible materials combine
chemically with oxygen in air to form new
compounds.
It is an exothermic reaction.
Generates a lot of heat and flame in the
process.
FIRE PREVENTION & FIRE FIGHTING
Fire
Essentially three main constituents are
required to start a fire.
Fuel, Oxygen or air and Heat.
When above three ingredients come
together in right proportion, a fire starts.
FIRE PREVENTION & FIRE FIGHTING
It is obvious that Fuel and air will always
be there.
Hence, the controllable constituent is
heat.
The main thrust in any fire prevention
programme will be to control the heat.
