INTRODUCCION
Los extintores porttiles son equipos
que contienen un agente extintor a
presin para ser utilizado en el
control de un fuego.

Son muy tiles como primera
respuesta ante un posible incendio.

1. Gire el pasador para romper
el seguro.
2. Tire el pasador de seguridad.

3. Agarre la manguera por un
extremo.
4. Oprima la manija de disparo.
5. Dirija el chorro de agua a la base
de las llamas, hacindolo funcionar en
forma de abanico con el fin de cortar
el oxigeno.
6. Remueva los escombros y enfre los
residuos.

llama, aplicndola con
movimiento en abanico del
difusor de descarga,
rpidamente, comenzando
desde el borde del fuego y
avanzando hasta el final de la
zona que se est quemando.

4. EXTINTORES DE ESPUMA
El principio de funcionamiento de este
extintor es igual al de agua, slo que
incorpora una boquilla especial de
aspiracin. Se utiliza para la extincin de
fuegos clase A y B, especialmente
lquidos inflamables y combustibles.

CRITERIOS PARA SELECCIN DE
EXTINTORES
1. Naturaleza de los combustibles que puedan quemarse.
2. Severidad potencial (tamao, intensidad y velocidad de
propagacin) de cualquier incendio.
3. Efectividad del extintor en ese tipo de riesgo.
4. Facilidad de manejo del extintor.
5. Personal disponible para utilizar extintores y su capacidad
fsica.
6. Condiciones de temperatura ambiental y otras
condiciones atmosfricas especiales (viento, presencia
de vapores).

RECOMENDACIONES
Un adecuado nmero de Extintores
porttiles se debe proveer a travs de la
planta, laboratorios y rea de oficina.

Estos deben estar montados y
asegurados en la pared, estructuras y
equipos de operacin (montacargas).

Su clasificacin debe ser la apropiada
para as poder responder adecuadamente
al tipo de conato de incendio que pueda
presentarse.

RECOMENDACIONES
Estos deben estar visibles y sin
obstrucciones, adems de una buena
sealizacin.

Se le harn un mantenimiento adecuado
de acuerdo a las especificaciones del
fabricante (Documentado).

Se revisarn mensualmente
(Documentado).
