INTRODUCTION:
4G is going to drive the soldiers in the battle fields in future by in rapid
communication by commanders.
The new systems include a weapon , head-to-toe individual protection ,
onboard computer, and enhanced human performance.
It includes broadband voice, video & data transmitted using advanced antenna
& wireless security technology.
Fourth generation mobile communications systems that are characterized by
high-speed data rates at 20 to 100 Mbps , suitable for high-resolution movies
and television , virtual. Initial deployments are anticipated in 2006-2010.
It is also known as beyond 3G, since it provides a comprehensive and secure
IP (interne t protocol) solution.
Users will enjoy high quality streaming video and anytime, anywhere voice and
data at a much higher speed than previous generations.
WHAT IS 4G?
FEATURES OF 4G:
It receives a large volume of information,
data, pictures, video, and so on.
4G will have broader bandwidth, higher data
rate, and smoother and quicker handoff and
will focus on ensuring seamless service
across a multitude of wireless systems and
networks.
Application adaptability and being highly
dynamic.

TECHNOLOGY:
The key technology supporting
this initiatives is ad hoc peer-to-
peer wireless networking(ad
hoc p2p),also known as a
mobile mesh network.
Ad hoc networking provides a
self organizing and self-healing
network structure.
Multi-hop routing terminals act
as routers and relays for each
other , and extend the range
and coverage of
communications links between
individual soldiers, troop
transports and command
centres.

MERITS OVER TRADITIONAL
SYSTEM:
Enhanced human performance.
Direct communication.
No external microphones.
4G ON THE BATTLE FIELD:
All of the battlefield network devices will
instantly form heal and update the network
as users come and go.
They will associate in an ad-hoc manner.
All of the devices will constantly reconfigure
routing tables to determine best network
routes.
The 4G battlefield will be entirely mobile,
with satellites or other.

This technology could function as a PAN,
LAN or WAN simultaneously.
This means that the same network can
connect a soldier to the squad or platoon, to
the battalion, and to a fully mobile division.
It is the equivalent of a Bluetooth, 802.11,
and 3G convergences, but in a single
network, with a single device .
FEATURES:
Enhanced power of vision
Unit detection
Ground guidance
Soldier status
Target hand off
Soldier rescue
POWER OF VISION:
A dropdown piece of eyewear from
the helmet allows the soldier to see
a 17-inch computer screen
displaying anything relayed to the
soldier.
No need for an external microphone
to communicate.
This system allows the soldier to
control the entire computer via
voice.
UNIT DETECTION:
The unit detection
allows the soldier to
differentiate friend
from foe.
It overlays
identification on live
targets in a soldiers
scope.
Exposes enemies that
are outside of a
soldiers visual range
and enables rapid
firing decisions.

GROUND GUIDANCE:
Directs soldiers to targets while avoiding
obstacles.
Ground guidance fuses road maps and
aerial imagery to discover obstructions and
generate routes.
This is a relief for the commanders of olden
days in which they use paper maps, issue
turnby-turn directions, and suggest
obstructed routes.
TARGET HAND OFF:

Enables soldier to
select targets using his
weapons scope and
range finder.

Alerts friendly soldiers
to the presence of
targets via their scope
and map.

SOLDIER RESCUE:
Identifies soldiers with
failing vital signs and
prompts commanders to
provide assistance.
Directs the rescue team
to the injured soldier.
This provides lowers
casualty rates, reduces
the severity injures ,and
prevents enemy ambush.
SOLDIER STATUS:
Presents battery indicator.
Body temperature
Heart rate.
Water percentage in body.
GEAR OF FUTURE WARRIOR:
The new system include full
body armour with weapons.
Head to toe protection
uniform.
Onboard computer to monitor
the activities.
A medic will be able to
diagnose and treat a soldier
without even physically
seeing the soldier .
The computer will drop down
a map to direct the soldier
where to find the medic for
help.
CONCLUSION:
This system will be implemented in future to
provide the intelligent communication between
soldiers connected to common network controlled
by mobile unit.
Yet so discussion is very simple but we have to
implement it without complexity and should be
cost effective.
