CONCLUSION
The POABS estate is situated in Nelliyampathy hills in ChitturTaluk of
Palghat district, Kerala, India.

After a series of transfers, POABS got the possession over the plantation in
1988.

Plantation was initially known as Seethargundu, named by a previous
owner Sri NeelkandaIyer.

Later the estate was sold to Karunya plantations Pvt.

The facility is ISO: 9001:2000 and Haeef certified.

I as a trainee, did my internship in Sales department.

The department consist of Sales manager, assistant sales manager, and the
sales representatives.

I was to assist in the works of Mr. Manu John (representative).

Structured and well organized.

The activities included;
Maintaining check on the marketing activities.
Collection of bills.
Maintaining Petty cash Balance.
To learn about the company and its history.

To understand the company vision and mission, goals and objectives.

To study and understand the sales department and its various activities and
operations.

To study and analyze the reports of the department.

To know about the distribution channel of the company.
JOB PROFILE:
To study about the various products of the company and the operations of
the department.

To assist the sales representative in site operations and to learn about the
various marketing skills.

MY CONTRIBUTION:
I studied the various operations performed within the department.

I analyzed the pricing strategies and the order processing mechanism.

I assisted the sales personnel in taking orders and recording them.

I assisted in preparing the accounts to be forwarded to the top management
and also the petty cash management.
STRENGTH:
Processing at on site facility.
Ready- To- Drink teas (RTD) such as iced
teas and flavored teas.
Processing machines as per international
standards.
WEAKNESS:
Technological issues.
No proper distribution channels.
Warehousing problems.
Limited workforce.
OPPORTUNI TI ES:


Access to rural markets.
Cheaper tea powder.
THREATS:



Less manufacturing due to insufficient
storage area.
Pricing of competitors.
Preference towards coffee over tea.

The POABS tea factory is one of the renowned tea plantations within the
country which is in business since 1989.

The company has adopted organic system of cultivation.

Under the present management it has transformed to mark its entry into the
international markets with the organic produce having high demand all over
the world.
