What is 3D Technology?

Technology used to study 3

dimensions of any object.
These are the 3 dimensions :
length, breadth, depth of any
object.
In 1838, Mr. Charles Wheatstone
discovered as he made two different
images of same object at different
angles.
There are two different way to produce
3D effects.

 Old version
 Modern technique
 Glasses with two different colors are used
specially red/blue.
 Two different lights specially red/green or
red/blue are used to give 3D effects on
screen.
 Red and blue lights enter into colors
glasses.

The red and blue lenses filter the two projected images allowing
only one image to enter each eye.
 The binocular vision system relies on the
fact that our two eyes are spaced about 2
inches (5 centimeters) apart.

 Each eye sees the world from a slightly

different perspective, and the binocular
vision system in your brain uses the
difference to calculate distance.
 Our brain has the ability to correlate the
images it sees in its two eyes even
though they are slightly different.

 Our brain can reconstruct depth, just as it

does in real-world sight, from the two
slightly different points.
 You cannot really have a color movie
when you are using color to provide the
separation, so the image quality is not
nearly as good .
 Two synchronize projectors are used having
lights with different polarizations.

Above image contains two diff. light (red/green)

coming from two synchronize projectors
 Glasses contains lenses with different
polarizations.

The polarized glasses allow only one of the images into

each eye because each lens has a different polarization.
 3D glasses use multiple coatings on each lens to
filter out particular frequencies of light; each
lens lets through only a particular set, different
for each eye
 3D system uses a wheel that spins at
4,800 rpm--fast enough to switch
between left-eye and right-eye .
 views six times for each frame of the
movie.
 It's divided into two halves, one set for
the left-eye view and one for the right-
eye view.
 Everything looks more real .
 During watching 3D movies, all
characters looks alive.
 It looks that creepy characters
moves in our direction.

 With the help of 3D Technology surgeons
can now see inside the human body,
without making an incision .

 3D Technology now gives scientist the

ability to see viruses in 3D.
 3D face recognition has the potential to
achieve better accuracy than its 2D
counterpart by measuring geometry of
rigid features on the face. This avoids such
pitfalls of 2D face recognition as change in
lighting, different facial expressions, make
up and head orientation.
 The technology is used in a wide range of
applications in manufacturing,
architecture.
 3D technology helps us to provide better
security than any other technology.
