Naming Molecular Compounds

non-metal bonded to non-metal


Use prefixes to show the number of each
type of atom
1- mono 2 - di 3 - tri 4 - tetra
5 - penta 6 - hexa 7 - hepta 8 - octa
9 - nona 10 - deca

Do not put mono in front of the first element
If you get oo or ao you can omit the first vowel
