Blue chip company is computer product
firm.
The company turnover had increased by
2.5%
Market share in A number of product had
also moved up marginally.
Six month ago, blue chips had been taken
over by an industrial group.

Blue Chips
Introduction
Manjula Srivastav- Head of Marketing at Blue Chips, a computer
product firm for last 4 years.
But one problem that she faced was of male dominancy. She was
troubled by the fact that she had to prove herself regularly at work.
Six months ago, Blue chips had been taken over by industrial group.
Due to which new managing director was introduced Anand Prakash,
who had one priority Blue Chips Will Go International & export was
his first concern for which he had a restructuring plan in his mind.

Cont.....
Manjula Srivastav
Head of marketing for the last four years at
blue chips.
She had talent for striking an instant rapport
with people.
Good relation with company dealers &
subordinates and peers in the company.
She had to prove herself regularly at work
and she used to make her displeasure known
to everyone.

Anand Prakash
New managing director of blue chips after
change of ownership.
His priorities clear, blue chips will go
international and exports will be our first
concern.
Take the decision of job related in suddenly
change in management team.

Harish Naik
He is executive assistant with special
responsibility for exports.
He had been appointed, with in two
months, as the vice president (exports) with
compensation and perks higher than her
own.

Reaction on decision
Srivastav Had Made A Formal Protest To
Prakash Who Had Assured Her That He
Was Aware Of Her Good Work In The
Company And That She Would Have An
Appropriate Role Once The Restructuring
Plan He Was Already Working On Was Put
Into Effect.

One Morning, As She Entered The Office
And Switched On Her Workstation, A
Message Flashed On Her Screen. It Was
From Prakash. Want To See You Sometime
Today Regarding Restructuring. Will 2.30
Be Convenient? It Said.

What Happen in Meeting?
Discussion with anand prakash as a managing
director and manjula srivastav as a head of
marketing such as follows.
My Decision
I give promotion to
manjula srivastav as a
vice president (export
marketing)
because of her
Communication Skill
Work Experience
talent for striking an
instant rapport with
people, Dealers,
Subordinates
I give promotion to
harish naik as a vice
president (domestic
marketing)
because of he
Less experience
he work very well to
others in domestic
market.
Cont.....
I am not created any other new post like
general manager (public affairs). Because of
computer prices had been crashing so new
post increased the fixed cost.
Customer relations and connections with
the dealer networks all are part of marketing
so this all work done is harish naik &
manjula srivastav.
CONCLUSION
Thus we conclude that prejudice in workplace is perceived
and it is not real, as from the case study it is clear that
Manjula had developed a perception that there is always a
male dominancy at work place but that snot true. She has
developed this perception due to her experience as she had
to prove herself many a times even if she was correct ,
therefore we come to the conclusion that prejudice in
work place is perceived and not real.

Thank You
