SECURITY MEASURES
Security measures are measures taken
as a precaution against theft,
espionage, possible danger or failure.
We usually use antivirus, antispyware,
firewall, backup data and biometrics
authentication.

ANTIVIRUS
Antivirus is a utility program that protects
the computers againts viruses by
identifying and removing computer
viruses found in the computer memory,
computer storage or incoming e-mails
files.
Examples of antivirus are Norton
Antivirus, AVG, Kaspersky and NOD32.

ANTISPYWARE

Antispyware is a utility program that
protects the computer against spyware
Spyware is a type of malware (malicious
software) installed on computers that
collects information about users without
their knowledge.
Examples of antispyware are Spybot,
Search & Destroy, and Spyware Blaster.

FIREWALL
A firewall is a software or hardware that
secures a network shielding it from access by
unauthorized users.
We use firewall to prevent hacking.
BACKUP DATA
Backup data is a utility program that makes
a copy of all files or selected files that have
been saved onto a disk.
We backup our data to ensure that our
data still be used if the original data is
corrupted and prevent our files from
malicious program like virus, Trojan horse,
worm and logic bomb.
Backup data is important when original
data is corrupted.


BIOMETRICS AUTHENTICATION
Biometric authentication is any process that
validates the identify of a users who wishes
to sign into a system by measuring some
intrinsic characteristic of that user.
Biometric samples include finger prints,
retinal scans, hand scanner, voice prints and
even typing patterns.


BIOMETRIC DEVICES
Fingerprint recognition and Hand Scanner
Fingerprint recognition refers to the auto method of
verifying a match between two human fingerprints.
Fingerprints are one of many forms of biometrics used
to identify individuals and verifying their identity.
Hand scanner works by creating and storing the
templates of hand geometry in a biometric device,
which are later used for identification and verification
processed.
A hand scanner is capable of providing accurate result.
CONCLUSION
Security measures are important to protect
our computer and data from any security
threats.
Security measures must be updates to avoid
any latest security threats.
