A balanced diet refers to a diet which contains
the right amounts of
carbohydrates,fats,proteins, vitamins,mineral
salts,water and roughage in order to meet the
bodys daily requirement.

A poor diet can have an injurious impact on
health, causing deficiency diseases such as
scurvy, beriberi, and kwashiorkor; health-
threatening conditions like obesity and
metabolic syndrome, and such common chronic
systemic diseases as cardiovascular disease,
diabetes, and osteoporosis.

A healthy diet should provide the body with all
of the substances necessary to maintain
growth,to keep in good health and to repair
damage tissues.

Physical health
Physical fitness refers to body health,
and is the result of regular exercise,
proper diet and nutrition, and proper
rest for physical recovery.

Mental health
Mental health describes either a level of
cognitive or emotional well-being or an
absence of a mental disorder.

There are four general determinants of
health including:
human biology,
environment,
lifestyle, and
healthcare services.

Achieving health and remaining healthy is an
ongoing process.
Effective strategies for staying healthy and
improving one's health include the following
elements:
Social Activity
Health care
Hygiene
Sports nutrition
Stress management


Nutrition refers to the process that
organisms obtain food for the maintenance
of life.


Breads, Cereals and Potatoes along with Fruits and
Vegetables are mostly made up of Carbohydrate, with
Vitamins and Minerals. Carbohydrates are used to
provide energy. These food types make up the three
base segments of the Food Pyramid and should be
consumed most regularly.

Milk, Dairy Products, and Meat and Fish are mostly
made up of Protein and other Vitamins and Minerals,
such as Calcium. We need these types of foods to
grow bones and our muscles. These food types are
important - especially in children, and should be
consumed regularly.

Foods that contain Fat, Oils and Sugars include things
like Butter, Crisps and Chips. These foods are used to
give us energy. This energy can be stored to use later.
These food types make up the top of the food
pyramid and should be eaten sparingly.

Proteins
Make new cells so that the body will grow.
Repair and replace damaged and worn-out
tissues.
Make enzymes and hormone.

Supply energy
Form part of cell membrane
Helps absorb certain minerals

For formations of hormones and body cells
As biological catalysts

Minerals salts
Iron:formation of haemoglobin
Calcium:formation of strong bones and teet

Roughage
Helping with the process of peristalsis.
Prevent constipation

Water
A medium in chemical reactions
A transproting agent
Regulates body temperature
A solvent for inorganic salts and organic
compound.

Take the amount of food according to food
pyramid.
Drink 8 glasses of water everyday.

activity(exercise regularly).

keeps your mind away from food.
